Abstract:
The present disclosure describes a method and an apparatus for pruning false peaks during slot synchronization at a user equipment (UE). For example, a method is provided to identify a plurality of first peaks associated with a primary-synchronization channel (P-SCH) received at the UE and a plurality of second peaks from the plurality of first peaks. Further, one or more pruning locations along with associated energy thresholds for each of the plurality of the second peaks may be determined and whether a peak of the plurality of the first peaks is a false peak is identified based on whether the peak is located at one of the one or more pruning locations of the peak and an associated energy value of the peak does not satisfy the associated energy threshold of the pruning location. Furthermore, the peak identified as the false peak is discarded.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for wireless communication for improving back to back cell reselection that includes establishing that cell reselection to a primary candidate cell has failed. Afterwards, a UE determines if a set of predetermined conditions have been triggered and schedules cell reselection to a secondary candidate based on whether the set of predetermined conditions have been triggered.
Abstract:
Aspects of the methods and apparatus relate to performing user equipment (UE) only discontinuous transmission (DTX) smart blanking. One aspect of the methods and apparatus include maintaining a list of voice configurations that would trigger user equipment (UE) discontinuous transmission (DTX). Further, the aspect includes receiving a current voice configuration for the UE from a network, and determining whether the current voice configuration of the UE received from the network falls within the list of voice configurations that would trigger UE DTX. Further, the aspect includes enabling uplink UE DTX at the UE when the current voice configuration of a UE falls within the list of voice configurations.
Abstract:
Techniques for uplink transmit power command (ULTPC) rejection threshold optimization in WCDMA for power control algorithm 2 (PCA2) are described. Uplink transmit power control commands may be received on a five-slot interval. The uplink transmit power control commands may be decoded for each of the five slots. The decoded uplink transmit power control commands may be compared for each of the five slots to a threshold. The threshold may be optimized to minimize overall transmit power control decision error. A bit decision may be made for each of the five slots based on the comparison and an overall transmit power control command may be determined based on the bit decision for each of the five slots over the five-slot interval.
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus may obtain a measurement of a radio condition from a radio frequency signal received at a first antenna and enable receive diversity for further measurements of the radio condition when a metric of the radio condition does not meet a predefined threshold value. A probability of occurrence of an out-of-service state may be reduced by measuring the radio condition using further measurements using receiver diversity. The further measurements of the radio condition may be based on whether one version of the signal has greater energy than the other versions of the signal. The further measurements of the radio condition may obtained by combining received versions of the signal utilizing combination diversity to obtain a combined signal strength/energy.
Abstract:
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine whether a slot timing difference, between a first cell and a second cell for a dual connectivity mode, satisfies a threshold value, where the first cell is a serving cell associated with a first radio access technology (RAT) and the second cell is a serving cell or a candidate cell associated with a second RAT. The UE may perform an operation to prevent the dual connectivity mode with the second cell, establish the dual connectivity mode with the second cell, maintain the dual connectivity mode with the second cell, or terminate the dual connectivity mode with the second cell based at least in part on whether the slot timing difference satisfies the threshold value. Numerous other aspects are provided.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for protecting shared low noise amplifiers by limiting transmission power. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes determining that a transmission by the UE on a frequency band via a first radio access technology (RAT) overlaps in time with a period that the UE is configured to receive on the frequency band via a second RAT; and limiting transmission power on the first RAT during the period.
Abstract:
Aspects of the present disclosure provide an apparatus and methods for recovering data from a control channel in wireless communications. An apparatus decodes a CRC appended codeword to obtain a decoded codeword, and computes a first syndrome of the decoded codeword utilizing a parity check matrix. If the first syndrome is non-zero, The apparatus determines a location S and a length K of an error pattern in bits of the decoded codeword, an index set ε based on the values of S and K. A linear system is formed based on the parity check matrix and the error pattern in accordance with the index set ε. The apparatus determines a solution of the linear system, wherein the solution includes an estimated error pattern. A recovered codeword can be determined by removing the estimated error pattern from the decoded codeword.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus of monitoring cells in a wireless communication system may include determining existence of a condition for performing a cell search on a frequency. In addition, the methods and apparatus may include calculating an undetected energy-related value for a hypothetical undetected cell based on a measured energy-related value of each detected cell on the frequency in response to determining the condition for performing the cell search. The methods and apparatus may further include determining whether to perform the cell search based on the undetected energy-related value and a reselection criteria.
Abstract:
Various aspects of the present disclosure provide methods and apparatuses that may provide for more efficient usage of time-to-trigger (TTT) timers in a wireless communication system, such that stopping or resetting of the TTT timer in response to receiving various measurement control messages (MCMs) can be limited to times when such stopping or resetting is appropriate.
