Abstract: This application provides a high dynamic range HDR video processing method, an encoding device, and a decoding device. The method includes: obtaining dynamic metadata of an Nth HDR video frame according to a dynamic metadata generation algorithm; calculating a tone-mapping (tone-mapping) curve parameter of the Nth HDR video frame based on the dynamic metadata of the Nth HDR video frame; generating a tone-mapping curve based on the curve parameter; determining, according to a quality assessment algorithm, distortion D′ caused by the tone-mapping curve; comparing D′ and DT, to determine a mode used by the Nth HDR video frame, where the mode is an automatic mode or a director mode, and DT is a threshold value; and determining metadata of the Nth HDR video frame based on the determined mode used by the Nth HDR video frame.

Abstract: An inter prediction method includes parsing, by a processor, a bitstream to obtain a location of a target adjacent image block of a current image block. The method further includes obtaining a preset correspondence between an adjacent image block location and a motion vector precision, wherein in the preset correspondence, locations of at least two adjacent image blocks correspond to different motion vector precisions. The method further includes determining, based on the location of the target adjacent image block and the preset correspondence, a target motion vector precision corresponding to the target adjacent image block. The method further includes determining a motion vector predictor of the current image block based on the location of the target adjacent image block and the target motion vector precision.

Abstract: Technologies for inter prediction for a block in a video are provided. In one example, a method includes: when a size of a current block satisfies a preset condition, parsing a bitstream to obtain a syntax element, where the syntax element includes at least an index of optimal candidate motion information of the current block; determining, based on the syntax element, to construct a first list or a second list for the current block, where the first list is a block-based candidate motion information list, and the second list is a subblock-based candidate motion information list; determining optimal motion information from the first list or the second list based on the index; and predicting the current block based on the optimal motion information. In this method, the block-based candidate motion information list and the subblock-based candidate motion information list are distinguished from each other. This effectively reduces transmission costs of the optimal candidate motion information.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to the field of video processing, and more particularly to high dynamic range (HDR) video and image processing. In particular, the present disclosure relates to determining one or more curve parameters of a tone mapping curve. For example, a device (encoder or decoder) may obtain a high dynamic range (HDR) video frame and metadata associated to the HDR video frame. The device further obtains a pair of anchor points, based on the HDR video frame and the metadata. The pair of anchor points comprises a first anchor point and a second anchor point of the tone mapping curve. Moreover, the device generates the one or more curve parameters of the tone mapping curve based on the pair of anchor points.
