    Abstract: A picture prediction method includes receiving a bitstream; parsing the bitstream to obtain a prediction mode of a current block; when the prediction mode of the current block is a combined intra and inter prediction mode, selecting an execution manner of a triangular prediction unit mode according to a preset policy; determining motion information of the current block according to the execution manner of the triangular prediction unit mode; performing a motion compensation process based on the motion information, to obtain an inter prediction sample; obtaining an intra prediction sample according to the prediction mode of the current block; and combining the inter prediction sample and the intra prediction sample to obtain a prediction picture of the current block.

    Abstract: Tone mapping methods and apparatus provide for receipt by a backend device may of metadata and an HDR image from a frontend device and the generation of a mapping curve based on feature parameters of the mapping curve included in the metadata. Tone mapping on the HDR image can be performed based on the mapping curve. The feature parameters of the mapping curve are determined by the frontend device based on a luminance distribution status of the HDR image. In this way, the mapping curve parameters are determined based on the luminance distribution status of the HDR image so that design of the mapping curve is more flexible, and display effect of the HDR image can be effectively improved.

    Abstract: Inter prediction method and apparatus are disclosed to resolve problems in the conventional technology that prediction samples obtained in an inter prediction mode are spatially discontinuous, prediction efficiency is affected, and prediction residual energy is relatively high. In particular, the present disclosure relates to a method for determining a parameter set for a tone mapping curve. The method comprises obtaining a plurality of parameter sets, wherein each parameter set defines the tone mapping curve, and wherein each parameter set is derived based on one of a plurality of HDR video frames.     Abstract: Technologies for inter prediction for a block in a video are provided. In one example, a method includes: parsing a bitstream to obtain a syntax element, where the syntax element includes at least an index of optimal candidate motion information of a current block; determining, based on the syntax element, to construct a first list or a second list for the current block, where the first list is a block-based candidate motion information list, and the second list is a subblock-based candidate motion information list; determining optimal motion information from the first list or the second list based on the index; and predicting the current block based on the optimal motion information. In this method, the block-based candidate motion information list and the subblock-based candidate motion information list are distinguished from each other. This effectively reduces transmission costs of the optimal candidate motion information.

    Abstract: An image capture method, an image display method, and an apparatus are provided to reduce a difference between an image displayed on a display end and an image displayed on a capture end. During encoding, the capture end transmits data for describing a luminance mapping relationship between a before-compression image and an after-compression image to the display end, so that consistency between the image on the capture end and the image on the display end is ensured as much as possible. In addition, screen related information for describing luminance of the capture end is transmitted to the display end, so that the display end adjusts backlight and a pixel value based on the screen related information, to improve consistency between the image on the capture end and the image on the display end.
