摘要： A damper mass damper assembly includes a rod, and a casing disposed annularly about the rod and defining a primary fluid chamber therebetween. The rod includes an annular wall that defines a first and a second expansion chamber disposed at a first and a second end of the rod respectively. The rod further defines a first and a second expansion port connecting the first and the second expansion chambers respectively with the primary fluid chamber in fluid communication. As fluid within the primary fluid chamber expands from heating, the fluid may weep into the first and/or second expansion chambers through the first and/or second expansion ports respectively to maintain the integrity of a first and second cap bearing seal, which seal the fluid within the primary fluid chamber.

摘要： The present invention provides an ophthalmic fluid delivery device adapted to deliver an ophthalmic fluid in the form of a mist to an ocular region of a patient. The ophthalmic fluid delivery device comprises a nozzle defining an aperture through which the ophthalmic fluid can flow and at least one shutter positioned proximate to the aperture of the nozzle. The shutter is mounted for movement with respect to the aperture of the nozzle between an open position permitting flow of the ophthalmic fluid through the aperture of the nozzle and a closed position at least partially covering the aperture. A shutter actuator is positioned proximate to the shutter. The shutter actuator is mounted for movement with respect to the nozzle, and the shutter actuator is coupled to the shutter such that the movement of the shutter actuator moves the shutter between the open position and the closed position.

The atomizer further includes a propulsion means for transmitting the ophthalmic fluid from the reservoir to the discharge plate, wherein transmission of the ophthalmic fluid across the discharge plate generates a plume of ophthalmic fluid along a direction directly toward the eye, wherein the plume of ophthalmic fluid travels unassisted from the discharge plate to the eye and at the eye has a momentum that has a magnitude that is insufficient to trigger at least one of an ocular blink reflex and a lacrimation reflex of the eye.

摘要： In printing with flexographic plates it is essential that each plate be accurately positioned on the plate cylinders. The mounting apparatus and method of this invention provide a register cylinder on which the flexographic plate is positioned by registration pins. The plate cylinder on which the flexographic plate is to be mounted is positioned in a predetermined rotational position on a mounting so that it can be moved towards and away from the register cylinder. The register cylinder is then rotated to a predetermined position and the plate cylinder brought into abutment with the flexographic plate and register cylinder. The registration pins are then retracted and both cylinders rotated to transfer the flexographic plate to the outer surface of the plate cylinder in registration. The plate adheres to the cylinder surface either by an adhesive substance, such as double sided tape, or magnetically.

A discharge plate is disposed at the distal end, wherein the discharge plate includes a plurality of openings extending therethrough. An ultrasonic oscillator is disposed in the body for transmitting the fluid from the reservoir to the discharge plate and through the plurality of openings, wherein transmission of the fluid through the plurality of openings atomizes the fluid.

摘要： An ophthalmic fluid atomizer including a body having a proximal end and a distal end and a container connected to the body, wherein the container contains an ophthalmic fluid disposed therein. The atomizer further including a discharge plate disposed at the distal end and a wick extending from the container to the discharge plate and transmitting the ophthalmic fluid from the container to the discharge plate via capillary action. Transmission of the ophthalmic fluid across the discharge plate generates a plume of ophthalmic fluid along a direction directly toward the eye, wherein the plume of ophthalmic fluid travels unassisted from the discharge plate to the eye and at the eye has a momentum subliminal to at least one of an ocular blink reflex and a lacrimation reflex of the eye. The atomizer further includes a processor that controls vibration of the discharge plate which causes an aerosol mist to form and an activation switch operatively coupled to the processor to activate the transmission of the ophthalmic fluid from the discharge plate.

The atomizer further including a discharge plate disposed at the distal end, wherein the discharge plate includes a plurality of openings extending therethrough and a prime mover that transmits the ophthalmic fluid from the reservoir to the discharge plate, wherein transmission of the ophthalmic fluid across the discharge plate generates a plume of ophthalmic fluid along a direction directly toward the eye, wherein the plume of ophthalmic fluid travels unassisted from the discharge plate to the eye and at the eye has a momentum that has a magnitude that is insufficient to trigger at least one of an ocular blink reflex and a lacrimation reflex of the eye, wherein the plume of ophthalmic fluid contains an amount of ophthalmic medicine and the momentum of the plume is such that substantially all of the amount of ophthalmic medicine is received and retained by the eye. The atomizer further including a nozzle assembly attached to the body and a handle assembly comprising a handle, the handle assembly coupled to the nozzle assembly.
