    摘要: A method is disclosed for making a termination between (a) a fiber optic cable having a centrally positioned optical fiber, a plurality of reinforcement strands positioned about the optical fiber, and a jacket positioned about the reinforcement strands; with (b) an electro-optic component housing having a tubular extension. In accordance with the method of this invention, in the initial step a predetermined length of the outer jacket is removed from the fiber optic cable to expose a length of optical fiber and reinforcement strands. The optical fiber is then inserted into and through a passage in the tubular extension to a point within the component housing and preferably fixed in place. The reinforcement strands are then positioned about the outer diameter surface of the tubular extension so that portions of the outer diameter of the tubular extension are covered with the reinforcement strands and other areas are left exposed. Then an adhesive is placed over the strands, the exposed areas of the tubular extension, and a portion of the jacket remaining on the fiber optic cable. A heat-shrinkable tubing is then positioned over the adhesive. The tubing is then heated causing it to shrink and make adhesive connection of the exposed area of the tubular member, the reinforcement strands, the jacket of the cable, and the heat-shrink tubing.

    摘要: In a video display apparatus, the high voltage generating circuitry responds to trigger pulses derived from horizontal deflection retrace-related pulses. During normal horizontal deflection operation, the trigger pulses produced are of sufficient amplitude to cause normal triggering of the high voltage generating circuits resulting in normal high voltage levels being produced. Under abnormal horizontal deflection operation in which the horizontal deflection current is not produced, the trigger pulses will be of insufficient amplitude to trigger the high voltage generating circuit, and hence no high voltage level is produced.

    摘要: A volume control or amplitude varying system for digital signals includes a cascade connection of a coarse multiplier/divider for changing the values of digital signals in 6 db steps and a fine multiplier/divider for changing the values of digital values logarithmically in substantially equal steps of less than 6 db per step. The coarse multiplier/divider selectively multiplies the digital signal by powers of 2. The fine multiplier/divider multiplies the digital signal by predetermined values, an ascending/descending sequence of which form a substantially logarithmic sequence. Both serial-bit and parallel-bit embodiments are described.

    摘要: In a resonant regulator power supply, a resonant circuit is coupled to a source of alternating input voltage that is controllable in operating frequency. A power transformer primary winding is coupled across the capacitive element of the resonant circuit for generating an output voltage across a secondary winding. A control circuit varies the operating frequency in a negative feedback loop to regulate the output voltage on the positive slope of the frequency characteristic curve. A frequency limiting circuit prevents the operating frequency from passing through the resonance frequency of the resonant circuit.

    摘要: A sampled data filter used in a television automatic ghost cancellation system employs a single chain of cascaded delay elements and a crossbar switch matrix to implement the several different delayed sequences of samples that are used by the system to cancel several ghost signals. The rows of switch elements in the crossbar switch matrix are coupled to the individual delay elements, and the columns of the matrix are coupled to sample scaling circuitry. The scaled samples are summed to develop a psuedo-ghost signal which is combined with the input signal to cancel the ghost signal components.

    摘要: The memory cell is a five transistor cell formed with complementary symmetry metal oxide (CMOS) semiconductor insulated gate field effect transistors (IGFETs) in the silicon-on-sapphire (SOS) technology with doped polycrystalline interconnects using buried contacts. Diodes are formed where doped polycrystalline silicon lines form buried contacts to underlying silicon epitaxial regions of opposite conductivity type and where silicon epitaxial regions of opposite conductivity type contact one another. The presence of these diodes has been shown by the inventor to not be detrimental to the operation of the memory cell.
