Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that support frequency and time domain multiplexing for low peak-to-average waveforms with multiple streams. A user equipment (UE) may identify sets of symbols associated with different streams (e.g., multiple single-carrier discrete Fourier transform (DFT)-spread waveforms), where each stream may be associated with a low peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR). In some cases, different waveforms may be mapped to subsets of frequency resources through frequency division multiplexing (FDM). The UE may further reduce the PAPR of the multiplexed waveforms by performing time division multiplexing (TDM) across the single-carrier streams, and sets of symbols that are not used by one waveform may be used by another waveform. Frequency domain phase ramps may be applied to align the multiplexed waveforms. Signals included in an uplink transmission according to these techniques may maintain properties similar to single-carrier waveforms, including a low PAPR.

Abstract: Efficient handling of control subbands in multiple component carrier (CC) configurations is discussed. A user equipment (UE) may begin monitoring one narrowband control subband within a wider band CC. At various times, the UE may receive a dynamic activation signal that triggers the UE to begin monitoring at least another control subband. Dependent on a type of traffic state the UE is operating, when currently involved in wideband operations, the UE may be triggered to monitor one or more UE-specific control subbands within the same slot in the wider band CC.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide systems, methods, and apparatuses for implementing the multiplexing of different orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) waveforms using a transmitter and receiver configured to process different types of signals without a need for distinct hardware structures. In one example, aspects of the present disclosure may include a transmitter configured to transmit both a first type of discrete fourier transform (DFT)-spread OFDM waveform and a second type of DFT-spread OFDM waveform that may be multiplexed over the wireless channel. In some aspects, the transmitter may modify the numerology of the zero-tail DFT-spread OFDM waveform to match the numerology of other OFDM waveforms (e.g., OFDM waveform with zero-guard or a single carrier DFT-spread OFDM with zero-guard).

Abstract: Wireless communications systems, methods, and techniques related to signaling and determining slot and mini-slot structures are provided. A first wireless communication device transmits a first signal according to a first numerology including at least a first tone spacing. The first signal indicates a second numerology including at least a second tone spacing. The first wireless communication device transmits a second signal according to the second numerology. The first signal includes a physical broadcast channel (PBCH) signal. The second numerology is independent from the first numerology. Different slot/mini-slot structures may be utilized for varying channel types to support mixed numerology arrangements. Embodiments may utilize single and varied slot structures; single slot structures may be decoupled from transmission numerology and varied slot structures may be defined based on reference numerology. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.
