Abstract: A method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus communicates with a second apparatus, including transmitting or receiving a first transmission. The apparatus receives information about the second UE from a sensor at the first UE and/or from a BSM. The apparatus determines whether the first apparatus and the second apparatus are in a LOS condition based on a correlation of the information with one or more of a channel estimation, PMI feedback, or RI feedback. The apparatus may adapt a transmission parameter for a second transmission based on a predicted location of the first apparatus or the second apparatus. The transmission parameter may include at least one of a modulation, a code rate, a DMRS density, a precoder, a CSI-RS transmission periodicity or a feedback rate.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure are directed to device-to-device (D2D) and, more particularly, vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication in which an efficient ranging protocol allows efficient ranging-assisted vehicle positioning. A vehicle transmits a first slot ID in a first control period, to indicate a first time slot for transmitting a first ranging signal in a ranging cycle including a plurality of time slots. The vehicle transmits the first ranging signal in the first time slot in the ranging cycle. From a second vehicle, the first vehicle receives a second ranging signal in a second time slot that is different from the first time slot in the ranging cycle. The first vehicle determines a first time-of-arrival (ToA) of the second ranging signal when received by the first vehicle, and transmits the first ToA in a second control period.

Abstract: An apparatus for wireless communication is provided. The apparatus determines, through sensors of a first vehicle, second-vehicle information associated with a second vehicle. In addition, the apparatus generates at least one safety message to include the determined second-vehicle information of the second vehicle. Further, the apparatus transmits the at least one safety message. The apparatus improves the performance/benefit of V2V communications technology by transmitting BSMs for other vehicles, including non-V2V vehicles without such V2V communications technology. Accordingly V2V vehicles will be able to better assess the traffic situation.

Abstract: A cross-carrier scheduling scheme is provided. The cross-carrier scheduling scheme may improve the resource scheduling, for example, in V2X communication. The apparatus (e.g., a UE) receives a resource grant on a first carrier for a second carrier, the resource grant assigning resources for the second carrier. The apparatus communicates with a second UE via the second carrier using the granted resources. Abstract: Methods and apparatus for configuring a UE to assist in mitigating network congestion include determining whether a data packet has expired based on a first parameter, which indicates an expiration of the data, and adjusting a transmission of the data packet based on the determination of whether the data packet has expired. In some aspects, the UE may drop the data packet upon determination that the data packet has expired. The UE may be configured detect to a first congestion level, receive a second congestion level from a second UE, and process a frame for transmission based on the first or second congestion level. The UE may be configured determine a priority, generate a data packet that includes a destination parameter or a source parameter, adjust radio resource parameters based on the destination parameter or source parameter, and transmit data packets according to adjusted radio resources.

Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer-readable medium for wireless communication are provided. In an exemplary embodiment, the apparatus can receive a packet at a Uu protocol stack of a first user equipment (UE), the packet intended for a base station. In addition, the apparatus can transfer the packet from the Uu protocol stack of the first UE to a PC5 interface protocol stack of the first UE. Furthermore, the apparatus can modify a header of the packet at the PC5 interface protocol stack to identify the packet as relayed uplink traffic intended for the base station from the first UE. Moreover, the apparatus can transmit the packet including the modified header to a second UE for relaying to the base station.

The reception pool is a transmission pool for the neighboring cell. The apparatus relinquishes a communication with the UE to a base station in the neighboring cell.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus, and computer-readable mediums for wireless communication are provided. One apparatus is configured to receive at least one SA from at least one UE. The apparatus is further configured to determine an energy associated with each at least one SA. The apparatus is also configured to rank data transmission time-frequency resources based on the determined energy associated with said each received at least one SA. Each at least one SA are associated with a different subset of the data transmission time-frequency resources. The apparatus is further configured to select a set of data transmission time-frequency resources based on the ranked data transmission time-frequency resources and to send a data transmission on the selected set of data transmission time-frequency resources. Another apparatus is configured to partitioning time-frequency resources into different resource groups, to divide UEs into UE groups based on location, and map the UE groups to the resource groups.
