Abstract: The apparatus may be configured to generate, for a set of data packets associated with an application, a set of parity bits, generate an encoded data transmission associated with a UPF including the set of data packets and the generated set of parity bits, and to output, for a receiving device associated with the application, the encoded data transmission. The apparatus may be configured to obtain an encoded data transmission associated with a UPF including a first plurality of bits associated with a set of data packets associated with an application and a second plurality of bits associated with a set of parity bits based on the set of data packets, to decode the encoded data transmission to generate the set of data packets, and output, for one of an application client or an application server associated with the application, the set of data packets.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station (BS), a paging communication while the UE is in an inactive mode or an idle mode. The UE may transmit, to the BS and based at least in part on receiving the paging communication, a first communication as part of a random access channel (RACH) procedure. The UE may receive, from the BS and based at least in part on transmitting the first communication, a second communication that includes mobile-terminated downlink data, an indication of an uplink resource, and a radio resource control (RRC) release message. The RRC release message may cause the UE to remain in the inactive mode or the idle mode while receiving the mobile-terminated downlink data. The UE may transmit mobile-originated uplink data using the uplink resource. Numerous other aspects are provided.

A user equipment (UE) may select a random access message type for establishing connectivity with a core network, the selecting between a first random access message type associated with a non-terrestrial radio access technology and a second random access message type associated with a terrestrial radio access technology. The UE may transmit, during or after a random access procedure to establish a connection with the core network, a random access message in accordance with the selected random access message type. The UE may communicate with the core network via the connection.

The one or more cells can be evaluated for reselection based at least in part on whether the one or more cells support the UE interested MBS to determine a target cell for reselection. Cell reselection can be performed to the target cell.

Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to on-demand ultra-reliable, low-latency communication (URLLC) are provided. In one embodiment, a base station (BS) receives, from a user equipment (UE) in a first cell frequency, a request for a protocol data unit (PDU) session over a network slice. The BS receives, from a core network entity, a resource configuration request for the PDU session over the network slice. The BS transmits, to the core network entity, a resource configuration response indicating a cause for rejecting the resource configuration request. In one embodiment, a UE transmits, in a first cell frequency of a network, a network registration request message requesting a network slice of the network that is not provided by the first cell frequency. The UE receives a network registration response message indicating the network slice is allowed based on a second cell frequency of the network providing the network slice requested.

Abstract: Wireless communication systems and methods related to enhancing initial access for multi-beam operations. A user equipment (UE) selects a synchronization signal block (SSB) that corresponds to a beam and has a reference signal received power (RSRP) above a threshold. The UE receives a system information block (SIB) that includes a plurality of SSB and beam-specific system information pairs. The UE selects beam-specific system information by matching the selected SSB to one of SSBs in the multiple SSB and beam-specific system information pairs. The UE establishes a connection with a base station (BS) using the beam-specific system information.

A user equipment (UE) may receive a measurement configuration including trigger conditions for performance of handover procedures within a service-based wireless system. The UE may transmit a message indicating a satisfaction of a trigger condition to a source network entity, a mobility service offered by a service-based network, or both. After performance of a handover decision by the source network entity, the mobility service, or both, the mobility service may select a target network entity for the handover procedure. The mobility service may select a target network entity that supports at least one active core network service at the UE. The UE may then receive a handover command from the mobility service, and may perform a handover procedure to the target network entity.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive control information that identifies criteria to use for determining a delivery status of a protocol data unit (PDU) set that includes multiple PDUs. The PDU set may be associated with an application layer of the UE. Accordingly, the UE may receive at least a portion of the PDU set, and may determine the delivery status of the PDU set based on the received portion of the PDU set and the criteria identified by the control information. The delivery status of the PDU set may refer to whether the PDU set was successfully delivered to the UE. The delivery status of the PDU set may be based on a quantity of bits or PDUs in the received portion of the PDU set, a threshold quantity of bits or PDUs, or a combination thereof.
