Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive multiple transport blocks (TBs) representing an application data unit (ADU) from a base station. The base station may transmit an indication that the UE is to provide ADU level feedback. The UE may determine the ADU level feedback based on whether the ADU is successfully received and decoded or not. The UE may indicate the ADU level feedback for the TBs to the base station. The base station and the UE may communicate according to the ADU level feedback.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) and a network entity may support conditional cross-carrier hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) retransmissions. The UE may transmit a capability message to the network entity to indicate a capability of the UE to support the cross-carrier HARQ retransmissions. The UE or the network entity may transmit a message on a first component carrier. The UE or the network entity may retransmit the message on a second component carrier based on an availability of resources for retransmitting the message, based on the capability of the UE, and based on one or more conditions associated with communications by the UE satisfying a threshold condition for cross-carrier HARQ retransmissions. For uplink communications, the UE may perform the transmitting and conditional retransmitting. For downlink communications, the network entity may perform the transmitting and conditional retransmitting.

A network node may determine a first time location associated with a peak in data traffic for multiple devices in communication with a communications network including the network node. The network node may determine a second time location for the peak in the data traffic for a subset of the devices based on a threshold for an overall peak in data traffic for the multiple devices. The network node may transmit a signal that indicates the second time location for the peak in the data traffic for the subset of devices. The network node may communicate the data with the subset of devices based on the signal indicating the second time location.

A wireless communications entity, such as a user equipment (UE), a base station, a network core, or an application server, may identify a round-trip time (RTT) latency requirement that may pertain to a round-trip latency in wireless communications between the UE and the base station. The wireless communications entity may identify a one one-way directional delay budget that satisfies the RTT latency requirement for an application of an application server. The application server may be in communication with the UE via the base station. The wireless communications entity may modify a value of the one-way directional delay budget and transmit a message that is associated with the modified value of the one one-way directional delay budget.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a message indicating multiple contention-based resource sets dedicated for the transmission of scheduling requests, where each contention-based resource set is associated with one or more respective contentions. The one or more respective conditions may be associated with a packet delay threshold, a buffer size threshold, or a probability function. The UE may transmit a scheduling request to request uplink resources for the UE using a resource of a contention-based resource set based on satisfaction of the one or more respective conditions of the contention-based resource set. In some examples, a remaining packet delay budget of an uplink message at the UE may satisfy the packet delay threshold of the contention-resource set. As such, the UE may randomly select the resource, from the contention-based resource set, to use for transmission of the scheduling request.

A user equipment (UE) may receive a downlink control information scheduling transmission of periodic multimedia traffic bursts to the UE with a first periodic cadence. The UE may transmit one or more sounding reference signals to the base station in accordance with the control signaling.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support mechanisms for uplink traffic alignment and/or uplink traffic aggregation in wireless communication systems. A user equipment (UE) is configured with a mechanism for signaling uplink transmit opportunities to an application client using an application programming interface (API) disposed between a modem of the UE and the application client that enables uplink traffic generated by the application client to be aligned. The API includes semi-static parameters that may be used when a common timer is configured between the application client and the modem, and/or dynamic parameters that may be used when a common timer is not configured between the application client and the modem. The API may also include an extended signaling scheme that may include no-transmission (No-Tx) indications that indicate intervals during which no transmissions are allowed. These No-Tx parameters apply to the semi-static and/or dynamic signaling scheme.
