Abstract: This disclosure relates to processing video data, including processing video data that is represented by an HDR/WCG color representation. In accordance with one or more aspects of the present disclosure, one or more Supplemental Enhancement Information (SEI) Messages may be used to signal syntax elements and or other information that allow a video decoder or video postprocessing device to reverse the dynamic range adjustment (DRA) techniques of this disclosure to reconstruct the original or native color representation of the video data. Dynamic range adjustment (DRA) parameters may be applied to video data in accordance with one or more aspects of this disclosure in order to make better use of an HDR/WCG color representation, and may include the use of global offset values, as well as local scale and offset values for partitions of color component values.

Abstract: A video processing device obtains a data stream comprising a plurality of elementary streams and a High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) timing and Hypothetical Reference Decoder (HRD) descriptor. The HEVC timing and HRD descriptor comprises a target schedule index syntax element indicating an index of a delivery schedule. The video processing device may identify, based on a set of parameters, a syntax element in an array of syntax elements in a video parameter set (VPS). The set of parameters may comprise a parameter having a value equal to a value of the target schedule index syntax element. The video processing device may identify, based on an index specified by the identified syntax element, a particular HRD parameters syntax structure in a plurality of HRD parameters syntax structures as being applicable to a particular elementary stream.

Abstract: An apparatus for coding video information according to certain aspects includes a memory and a processor configured to: determine a value of a first flag indicative of whether preceding pictures that precede a current picture in a current layer in decoding order are used for temporal motion vector prediction (TMVP) of subsequent pictures that follow the current picture in the current layer in decoding order, the first flag associated with the current picture; and refrain from using the preceding pictures in the current layer as reference pictures for TMVP of the current picture, in response to determining that the value of the first flag indicates that the preceding pictures in the current layer should not be used for TMVP of the subsequent pictures in the current layer.

Abstract: This disclosure describes techniques for communicating optimal coding parameters between a source device and a sink device. The sink device may receive, in a bitstream, video data and a group of one or more supplemental enhancement information (SEI) messages, wherein each SEI message comprises indications of a set of display capabilities and a set of remapping parameters. The sink device may then, for each SEI message of the group of one or more SEI messages, compare the respective set of display capabilities indicated in the respective SEI message with a target set of display capabilities for the sink device. Responsive to determining that a first set of display capabilities indicated by a first SEI message is compatible with the target set of display capabilities, the sink device may adapt the video data using a respective set of remapping parameters indicated by the first SEI message.

The processor is configured to determine whether the picture is a non-picture-order-count (POC)-anchor picture, and based on the determination of whether the picture is a non-POC-anchor picture, perform one of (1) refraining from indicating a POC reset in connection with the picture, or (2) indicating the POC reset in connection with the picture. The processor may encode or decode the video information.

Abstract: A computing device generates a file that comprises a media data box that encloses media content. The media content comprises a sequence of samples. Each of the samples is an access unit of multi-layer video data. Responsive to a determination that at least one access unit of a bitstream of the multi-layer video data includes a coded picture that has a picture output flag equal to a first value and a coded picture that has a picture output flag equal to a second value, the computing device uses at least two tracks to store the bitstream in the file. For each respective track from the at least two tracks, all coded pictures in each sample of the respective track have the same value of the picture output flag.

Abstract: Bitstream restrictions or constraints on the partitioning of pictures across layers of video data are described. In some examples, the number of tiles per picture for each layer of a plurality of layers is constrained based on a maximum number of tiles per picture for the layer. In some examples, the number of tiles per picture for each layer of the plurality of layers is no greater than the maximum number of tiles per picture for the layer. In some examples, a sum of the numbers of tiles per picture for the plurality of layers is no greater than a sum of the maximum numbers of tiles per picture for the plurality of layers. In some examples, a second largest coding unit (LCU) or coding tree block (CTB) size for a second layer is constrained based on, e.g., to be equal to, a first LCU size for a first layer.
