    Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to the field of video processing, and more particularly, to high dynamic range (HDR) image processing. In particular, the present disclosure relates to a method for determining a parameter set for a tone mapping curve. The method comprises obtaining a plurality of parameter sets, wherein each parameter set defines the tone mapping curve, and wherein each parameter set is derived based on one of a plurality of HDR video frames. Further, the method comprises temporally filtering the plurality of parameter sets to obtain a temporally filtered parameter set.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an apparatus and a method for providing a plurality of motion vectors related to an image coded in a bitstream, comprising obtaining a set of sample positions within the image, obtaining respective motion vectors associated with the set of sample positions, deriving an additional motion vector based on information coded in the bitstream, determining an additional sample position located within a triangle, which is formed by three sample positions of the set of sample positions, based on the respective motion vectors associated with the three sample positions, the triangle not including any other sample position of the set, adding the additional sample position to the set of sample positions, and associating the derived additional motion vector with the additional sample position. Such method and apparatus provide for an efficient motion flow compression and reconstruction enabling to recover some sample positions without signaling them in the bitstream.

    Abstract: A method of coding implemented by a decoding device or an encoding device, comprising obtaining indication information for a luma position (cbWidth/2, cbHeight/2) of a current coding block, relative to a top-left luma sample postion (xCb, yCb) of the current coding block; setting a value of a luma intra prediction mode associated with the current coding block to a first default value, when the indication information indicates that a Matrix-based Intra Prediction (MIP) is applied for the luma component at the luma position (cbWidth/2, cbHeight/2), relative to the top-left luma sample postion (xCb, yCb) of the current coding block; and obtaining a value of a chroma intra prediction mode based on the value of the luma intra prediction mode of the current coding block.

    Abstract: A method for picture or video encoding, wherein a block of residual signal is being subsampled before transform, quantization and residual coding, comprising obtaining a residual signal from an original picture and a predicted block; obtaining a subsampled block from samples of a near-boundary region of a block of residual signal, wherein the subsampled block has a smaller size than the block of residual signal; performing forward transform over the subsampled block; performing quantization over the subsampled block to obtain a subsampled quantized residual block; performing residual coding of the subsampled quantized residual block; obtaining a subsampled reconstructed residual block by inverse quantization and inverse transform of the subsampled quantized residual block; obtaining a reconstructed residual block by filling samples of the near-boundary region of the reconstructed residual block from the subsampled reconstructed residual block; and obtaining a reconstructed block from the predicted block and the reconstructed residual block.
