摘要: An elongate, horizontally level, pipe includes a circumferential wall. The pipe flows, within the circumferential wall, process fluid that includes a first fluid and a second fluid immiscible with the first fluid. The first fluid and the second fluid are separated by an interfacial layer. Heating coils are disposed within the pipe. Each heating coil passes through an interior region of the pipe between the circumferential wall at a respective height from a bottom of the pipe. The heating coils generate heat. A controller is connected to the heating coils. The controller triggers at least one of the heating coils that is nearest to a location of the interfacial layer within the interior region to apply heat to the interfacial layer. The heat is sufficient to at least partially demulsify the interfacial layer.

摘要: The present invention provides an automated system and method to isolate nucleated blood cells from whole blood or bone marrow. A disc mounted to a centrifuge system with spinning rotor is used to manipulate cells by channeling fluids while subjected to high gravitational field. The disc embodies at least two axisymmetric processing stations connected by a circular channel. Each station contains multiple chambers connected by fluidic channels to controllably transfer fluids. First stage separation allows for the isolation of the buffy coat layer while the second stage separation utilizes gradient density fluids to isolate the targeted nucleated cells from the buffy coat layer in the spinning disc.

摘要: A waste oil handling apparatus features a tank with draining compartments for receiving waste oil containers in inverted and elevated positions above the tank floor. Multiple drain ports communicate with the tank interior at different elevations relative to the floor for draining accumulated contents of varying density that have gravitationally separated into distinct layers at those elevations. The ports feature adjustable fittings for adjusting the levels from which the layered contents are drawn through the ports from the tank interior. The tank has a large cleanout access by which personnel can access the tank interior for thorough cleanout. The compartments are organized into one or more troughs, each having a pivotal lid thereon. Lift brackets under the floor enable lifted transport of the tank by pallet jack or forklift.

摘要: Methods and systems to monitor and control crude oil processing with regards to crude oil specifications for bottom sediment & water (BS&W) and salt are provided. Crude oil processing may be monitored and controlled using key performance indicators (KPIs) that include the desalter voltage and dehydrator voltage as indicators of the BS&W and salt. In response to monitoring of the desalter voltage and dehydrator voltage, a high pressure production trap (HPPT) efficiency and a dehydrator separation efficiency may be controlled via adjustment of a wash water percentage, a demulsifier dosage, a dehydrator interface level, a desalter interface level, and a differential pressure across a mixing valve.
