Abstract:
A geolocationing system and method for providing awareness in a multi-space environment, such as a hospitality environment or educational environment, are presented. In one embodiment of the geolocationing system, an array of gateway devices is provided. Each gateway device includes a gateway device identification providing an accurately-known fixed location within the multi-space environment. Each gateway device includes a wireless transceiver that receives a beacon signal from a proximate wireless-enabled personal locator device. The gateway devices, in turn, send gateway signals to a server, which determines estimated location of the wireless-enabled personal locator device with transmitted signal strength modeling.
Abstract:
One or more endpoints may be registered with a gateway at a premises. The gateway may include local physical interfaces for communicating with a first subset of the endpoints. The gateway may further include Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) proxy servers for communicating with a second subset of the endpoints. Incoming communications to the premises may be routed by the gateway to one or more of the endpoints via the local physical interfaces or the SIP proxy servers. One or more endpoints may initiate outgoing communications via the local physical interfaces or the SIP proxy servers.
Abstract:
A system and method for optimized rendering of contact center services in a hybrid operations environment. A processor in a first operations environment receives a message transmitted by a first contact center resource relating to a contact center service. The message is forwarded to the processor by an edge device coupled to a second operations environment different from the first operations environment. The edge device is configured to hide from the message identification of a location of the contact center resource. Despite such hiding, the processor identifies the location of the first contact center resource based on identification information that the processor retrieves from the message. The processor selects a second contact center resource based on the identified location of the first contact center resource for providing the contact center service.
Abstract:
Techniques are described that enable local caching of content data within metro transport networks for delivery to subscribers of ISPs that are connected to metro transport networks. Routers within the metro transport network, including an access router, ISP-facing provider edge routers and one or more caching routers, establish an EVPN within the metro transport network. The access router outputs, within the EVPN and to the caching routers, EVPN route advertisements that advertise network address reachability information of the subscriber devices on behalf of the ISPs. Responsive to subscriber content requests that have been redirected from the ISPs and based on the EVPN route advertisements from the access routers, the caching routers of the metro transport network forward, by the EVPN, content from the local content cache to the access routers for efficient delivery to the one or more of the subscribers.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for adapting traditional landline telephones to make and receive Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) calls and other communications are described. In some embodiments, an adapter, adaptor, or other device or apparatus connects an IP router, such as a WiFi router or other access point, to a traditional landline telephone (e.g., a phone using dual-tone multi-frequency, or DTMF, signaling), enabling the traditional landline phone to make and/or receive VoIP calls.
Abstract:
A communication system for an organization having multiple sites uses a dual-mode device capable of both cell phone communication and telephone communication on a local area network (LAN). IP LANS are established at organization sites such that a temporary IP address is assigned to a dual-mode device that logs onto an organization LAN, and the IP address is associated at a PSTN-connected server on the LAN with the cell phone number of the communication device. The IP server notifies a PSTN-connected routing server when a device logs on to a LAN, and also provides a destination number for the IP server. Cell calls directed to the device are then redirected to the IP server and directed to the device connected to the LAN.
Abstract:
A profile-based system is employed to manage user identities and preferences, devices, content and/or other aspects of service delivery. The user profiles may be maintained in one or more servers or other elements located in an external network access via a customer premises equipment (CPE) gateway of a local network. The profiles can be used to map users to identities, devices, services, and other features that affect the manner in which a particular user communicates with (or through) the external network.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for an access gateway control function server to convert between network-based call signaling messages and session initiation protocol messages. An embodiment operates by receiving in a first access gateway control function server, a first session initiation protocol (SIP) message sent from a first device and converting the SIP message in the first access gateway control function server to a first network-based call signaling (NCS) message to be received by a second device.
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus establishes a file delivery session with a server in a broadcast network for system information. The apparatus also receives a plurality of metadata fragments in the file delivery session. The plurality of metadata fragments including at least one initialization segment description fragment, wherein the at least one initialization segment description fragment is associated with at least one media segment transmitted in another file delivery session.
Abstract:
Aspects of a method and system for managing quality of service via a broadband gateway are provided. In this regard, a broadband gateway that supports one or more first QoS protocols may determine, based on communications with a plurality of communication devices, whether each of the plurality of communication devices supports the one or more first QoS protocols. The gateway may communicate a result of the determination to a content provider and/or service provider. In this manner, the content provider and/or service provider may determine whether to utilize one or more second QoS protocols to deliver content to a particular one of said plurality of communication devices based on whether said particular of communication devices based on whether said particular one of said plurality of communication devices supports the one or more first QoS protocols. The gateway may be operable to map between QoS protocols.
