Abstract: There is provided mechanisms for communicating non-IP data over a PDN of PDN type IPv4, IPv6, or IPv4IPv6. A method is performed by a core network gateway node. The method comprises communicating IP packets over a packet data network of PDN type IPv4, IPv6, or IPv4IPv6 with an application server, the IP packets comprising an IP header and being addressed to a wireless device. The method comprises communicating header-less payload packets over the packet data network with the wireless device. The header-less payload packets correspond to the IP packets having the IP header removed and represent the non-IP data.

Abstract: A method implemented by a Policy Control Function (PCF) of a Core Network (CN) node in a communications network includes receiving a request message from an Access and Mobility management Function (AMF). The request message includes a requested Data Network Name (DNN) designated by a wireless terminal in a Protocol Data Unit (PDU) session establishment request to the AMF. Responsive to the request message and to session-specific information, a selected DNN and a Session Management Function (SMF) index is determined. Each of one or more SMFs are registered with a Network Repository Function (NRF) of the CN node or a different CN node according to a corresponding SMF profile. The selected DNN and the SMF index are sent to the AMF to facilitate selection of one of the one or more SMFs via the NRF for establishment of the PDU session between the wireless terminal and the selected SMF.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method performed by an AMF entity in a Visited Public Land Mobile Network, VPLMN, entity serving a roaming UE, the method comprises: obtaining, by the AMF entity, a subscribed UE-AMBR for the UE; sending, by the AMF entity, an Access Management, AM, Policy request message towards a Visited Policy Control Function, V-PCF, entity in the VPLMN to establish or update an AM Policy for the roaming UE; receiving by the AMF entity in response to sending the AM Policy request message, an AM Policy response message sent by the V-PCF entity and comprising Access and mobility related policy information that includes a serving network UE-AMBR for the UE decided by the V-PCF entity; and deploying the serving network UE-AMBR instead of the subscribed UE-AMBR by sending the policy control information including the determined UE-AMBR to a RAN node in the serving network.

Abstract: A method in an access point (AP) for setting an inactivity timer in a radio communication network comprising the AP, a mobile management entity (MME) and a session management entity (SME). The method includes obtaining an inactivity timer value for one or more user equipments (UEs) served by the AP and transmitting the inactivity timer value to the MME for notifying the SME of the inactivity timer value for the one or more UEs. For each of the one or more UEs, the AP and the SME respectively maintain an inactivity timer associated with the UE based on the inactivity timer value and remove resources locally used for the UE when the inactivity timer expires.

A method for use in a core network node of receiving RRC state information of a UE comprises: sending, to the network node, a subscription request to receive a notification of a transition of the UE between a first and second RRC state; and upon the network node determining the UE transitioned between the first and second RRC state, receiving the notification from the network node.

Abstract: The embodiments herein relate to a method performed by a local subscriber node for handling attachment of a User Equipment (UE) to a central network. The local subscriber node comprises default subscription data which is common for all UEs which are associated with a local network. When a connection to a central subscriber node is accessible, the local subscriber node obtains authentication data associated with the default subscription data from the central subscriber node. When the UE requests attachment to the central network when the connection to the central subscriber node is inaccessible, the local subscriber node sends the obtained authentication data for the UE to a mobility management node.
