    Abstract: In order to provide a surgical microscope system (100), a control apparatus (120), and a control method that enable position and orientation of a lens tube to be adjusted without requiring a large-scale system, the surgical microscope system includes an arm (112), a surgical microscope (113), a target value setting unit (122), an estimation unit (123), and a control unit (125), the arm includes a rotatable joint (118), the surgical microscope includes a microscope optical system (114) and a camera (115) that captures an operative field image that is a microscope magnification image of an operative field by the microscope optical system, the surgical microscope being supported by the arm, the target value setting unit sets target values of position and orientation of the surgical microscope, the estimation unit estimates the position and orientation of the surgical microscope on the basis of the operative field image and generates estimated values, and the control unit is configured to control a rotation of the joint in accordance with results of comparison of the target values with the estimated values.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an optical system, an endoscope, and a medical image processing system capable of adjusting an effect of extending a depth of field.
    A medical image processing system includes: a light source that irradiates an observation target with light; an image capturing control unit that controls capturing of an image of the observation target irradiated with the light; and an endoscope including a scope having a tubular shape and made from a rigid or flexible material, a camera head including an imaging element that captures an image, and an optical element insertion unit provided between the scope and the camera head. Further, the optical element insertion unit includes two or more optical elements having the effect of extending the depth of field, and at least one of the optical elements is movable. The present technology is applicable to, for example, a medical image processing system including an EDOF optical system.

    Abstract: There is provided an image processing device (13) including a displayed-image generation unit (13f) configured to generate a displayed image in which a first reference image indicating reference coordinates of a preoperative image that is a captured image of an eyeball of a patient before surgery is superimposed on the preoperative image, and a second reference image indicating reference coordinates of an intraoperative image that is a captured image of the eyeball of the patient at the start of the surgery or during the surgery is superimposed on the intraoperative image, wherein the displayed-image generation unit arranges the first reference image and the second reference image such that the respective reference coordinates of the preoperative image and the intraoperative image correspond to each other, and such that a scale, a position, or an orientation of at least one of the preoperative image or the intraoperative image is changeable, to generate the displayed image.
