    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an optical system, an endoscope, and a medical image processing system capable of adjusting an effect of extending a depth of field.
    A medical image processing system includes: a light source that irradiates an observation target with light; an image capturing control unit that controls capturing of an image of the observation target irradiated with the light; and an endoscope including a scope having a tubular shape and made from a rigid or flexible material, a camera head including an imaging element that captures an image, and an optical element insertion unit provided between the scope and the camera head. Further, the optical element insertion unit includes two or more optical elements having the effect of extending the depth of field, and at least one of the optical elements is movable. The present technology is applicable to, for example, a medical image processing system including an EDOF optical system.

    The medical imaging system includes: a first imaging element that receives light through a color filter and outputs a first image signal; a second imaging element that receives light not through a color filter and outputs a second image signal; an optical splitting system that splits incident light incident from a mount surface into light to be incident on the first imaging element and light to be incident on the second imaging element; and a signal processing unit that performs depth-of-field extension processing to generate an extended-depth-of-field image obtained by extending a depth of field using the first image signal and the second image signal. Then, the optical path length from the mount surface to the first imaging element is set to be shorter than the optical path length from the mount surface to the second imaging element. The present technology can be applied to, e.g., a medical imaging system capable of capturing an EDOF image.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a video processing system, a medical information processing system, and an operation method capable of obtaining a video with intended image quality. A first medical video captured by a target medical apparatus, which is a first medical apparatus and a second medical video captured by a subject medical apparatus, which is a second medical apparatus are recorded in a video recording unit. Then, a conversion parameter generation unit generates a conversion parameter that brings the image quality of the second medical video close to the image quality of the first medical video by using the first medical video and the second medical video, and an image quality conversion processing unit converts the image quality of a medical video captured by the subject medical apparatus by using the conversion parameter. The present technology can be applied to, for example, a video processing system for a medical institution.
