Abstract:
Aspects of managing background public mobile network (BPLMN) searches are described. For example, in an aspect, a user equipment (UE) may determine whether one or more segments of a frequency acquisition from a prior discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle remain to be completed and whether the one or more segments of the frequency acquisition may be performed in a remaining portion of the current DRX cycle. If so, the UE may be configured to perform the one or more segments of the frequency acquisition when the identified remaining portion of the current DRX cycle provides sufficient time.
Abstract:
A method for wireless communication by a first user equipment (UE) includes receiving, from a second UE, a codec mode request (CMR) for a new bit rate. The method also includes transmitting, to a network device, a recommended bit rate (RBR) query in response to the new bit rate exceeding a current bit rate. The method still further includes communicating with the second UE using the new bit rate or the current bit rate. A method of wireless communication by a network device includes transmitting, to an originating UE, an RBR for a new bit rate. The method also includes receiving, from a terminating UE, an RBR query in response to the new bit rate exceeding a current bit rate. The method further includes transmitting, to the terminating UE, a response to the RBR query.
Abstract:
A UE may identify an offset period associated with an NTN cell based on a SIB. The UE may identify a TA value associated with the NTN cell for the UE based on a location of the UE and a location of a satellite of the NTN cell. The UE may identify whether the TA value associated with the NTN cell for the UE is less than the offset period associated with the NTN cell. The UE may block the NTN cell for a first duration or until a reboot of the UE if the TA value associated with the NTN cell for the UE is greater than the offset period associated with the NTN cell.
Abstract:
A user equipment (UE) includes: a first subscriber identity module (SIM) associated with a first service provider subscription and a second SIM associated with a second service provider subscription; the US is configured to operate the first service provider subscription in an active-mode and operating the second service provider subscription in an idle mode; and the UE is further configured to signal a changing quantity of multiple input, multiple output (MIMO) layers available to the first service provider subscription in response to radio frequency (RF) resource sharing with the second service provider subscription for a paging operation of the second service provider subscription.
Abstract:
Aspects of the present disclosure relate to wireless communications and, more particularly, to recovery from a loss of service in wireless networks. An example method generally includes: in response to a loss of service from a cell of a first radio access technology (RAT) associated with a VPLMN, attempting to camp on a first cell, receiving, from the first cell, a rejection of the camping attempt indicating roaming is not allowed, based on receiving the rejection indicating roaming is not allowed, searching at least one of an home public land mobile network (HPLMN) or registered public land mobile network (RPLMN) for one or more second cells of the first RAT, wherein searching includes refraining from searching at least one other RATs of the HPLMN, and if at least one second cell is detected, attempting to camp on the at least one second cell.
Abstract:
This disclosure provides systems, devices, apparatus, and methods, including computer programs encoded on storage media, for false positive detections of DCI requests to switch BWPs. A UE may receive a DCI request to switch from a first BWP to a second BWP and may reject the DCI request for a switch from the first BWP to the second BWP based on at least one of a conflict with a TDD pattern associated with the DCI request, a DCI decoder metric, or a number of error-corrected modulation symbols that indicates a false positive detection of the DCI request.
Abstract:
Disclosed are methods and apparatuses for providing notifications in a communication network of a plurality of Internet of Things (IoT) devices. In an aspect, a supervisor device in the communication network detects a notification directed to a wireless mobile device in the communication network and sends at least one instruction to at least a first IoT device of the plurality of IoT devices to reduce an operating volume or suspend operation of the first IoT device. The first IoT device receives the at least one instruction from the supervisor device and reduces the operating volume of the IoT device or suspends the operation of the IoT device in response to the at least one instruction.
Abstract:
The disclosure provides methods and apparatus to improve public land mobile network search time. A user equipment (UE) may determine a subset of channels within a frequency band based on a stored identifier of a channel used by a previously acquired cell, each channel in the subset being spaced from the channel used by the previously acquired cell by a different multiple of a set spacing, the set spacing being greater than a spacing between adjacent channels. The subset of channels may be scanned to determine a signal strength of each channel in the subset. The UE may rank each channel in the subset according to the determined signal strength of the channel and attempt to acquire a cell using a channel in the subset based on the ranking.
