Abstract:
An adaptive performance support system is disclosed for facilitating access and presentation of information to a user. The system receives input of a scope of interest of the user including an access level, a working mode and a lesson/task/subject. The access level reflects the proficiency level of the user, such as novice, intermediate or advanced. The working mode reflects what the user wants to do, such as undertake a lesson to learn about, perform a task or browse topical or task related information on a particular subject. The lesson/task/subject is the subject matter of interest to the user. The system then selects information relevant to the chosen lesson/task/subject, oriented to the specified working mode and appropriate to the specified access level from a general pool of knowledge. The selected information is then interactively presented to the user avoiding the presentation of extraneous information.
Abstract:
A semi-crystalline biaxially oriented film comprising a copolyester which comprises repeating units derived from an aliphatic glycol, an aromatic dicarboxylic acid, and the monomer of formula (I): (I) wherein n=2, 3 or 4, Z is C═O, and wherein comonomer (I) constitutes a proportion of the glycol fraction of the copolyester and is present in an amount of at least about 4 mol % of the glycol fraction of the copolyester.
Abstract:
A panel barrel hinge clip comprising a plate section and an annulus section are described. An article comprising the clip is described. A method of arresting movement of a swinging panel mounted on frame with a barrel hinge is described.
Abstract:
A fish capturing device is provided. The device includes a pair of cage members having a first position in which an opening is defined therebetween through which a fish may be passed and a second position in which each of the cage members are pivoted until the cage members are nested together to form an enclosure for enclosing a fish therein. A latch is configured for latching the pair of cage members into the first position and releasing the pair of cage members into the second position. A tensioner applies tension to the pair of cage members to bias the cage members into the second position to enclose the fish within the pair of cages.
Abstract:
An article of apparel including a tubular knit textile region is provided, as well as an apparel printing system for printing on regions of the tubular knit textile region and related methods. The article of apparel can include a tubular knit textile region having an internal side and an opposite external side configured to be exposed during use, a plurality of yarns in an arrangement of interlocked loops forming parallel rows and channels therebetween, and a printed ink design on its external side. The printed ink design can be formed from ink applied to the parallel rows of loops and to the channels. An apparel printing system for printing on the article of apparel can include a textile printer having a print head and a tubular platen that includes features on the platen surface to retain and register the tubular knit textile on the platen surface during printing.
Abstract:
A method for manufacturing a cushioning element may include securing a plurality of pad components to pins that extend outward from a base, each of the pins having a non-circular short-axis cross-sectional shape. The pad components are then compressed between the base and a material layer to bond the pad components to the material layer. In some configurations, the pins may have an elongate short-axis cross-sectional shape. In some configurations, the pins may have an elliptical short-axis cross-sectional shape. Additionally, in some configurations, the pins may have a short-axis cross-sectional shape selected from triangular, square, rectangular, hexagonal, and semi-circular.
Abstract:
An article of apparel may include may include a garment portion and at least one protective element. The garment portion and the protective element have a configuration that forms a gap, separation, or pleat structure through, for example, folding or overlapping of a textile element of the garment portion. The gap, separation, or pleat structure may permit the protective element to move independent of other portions of the apparel, thereby enhancing a range of movement of the individual and the overall comfort of the apparel.
Abstract:
A refrigerated air curtain redirection unit can be retro fitted to the front base of a an existing reach-in commercial open-display refrigerated cabinet, or provided as original built-in equipment for a newly manufactured cabinet to reduce refrigerated air spillage. The unit has a body part that protrudes outwardly of the open frontage of the cabinet at an upward angle and there is an inwardly curved part at its top region whereby an air vortex is formed that acts to draw air from the curtain at its base into an air duct of the cabinet.
Abstract:
A method for manufacturing the cushioning elements may include utilizing a die with a plurality of die elements positioned in a particular arrangement. A polymer material, which may be a polymer foam material, is located between the die and an extractor. The polymer material is compressed between the die and the extractor, and the die elements cut the polymer material to form a plurality of pad components, which are arranged like the die elements. The die and the extractor are separated, and the pad components are secured to the extractor in the arrangement of the die elements. Additionally, the pad components are bonded to at least one material layer such that the pad components remain in the arrangement of the die elements.
Abstract:
A breathable, heat-sealable composite film comprising first and second layers of polymeric material wherein (i) the polymeric material of the first layer comprises copolyester comprising monomeric units derived from one or more diol(s); one or more dicarboxylic acid(s); and one or more poly(alkylene oxide) glycol(s); and (ii) the second layer is a heat-sealable polymeric layer, and a process for the production thereof.
