Abstract: A rope for trawl nets having a high-strength eye-splice comprises an eye portion made of an HMPE material and tied round the end of the rope; a first fixing member preventing the eye portion from unraveling; an HMPE splice portion formed in a splice manner and having an outside and an inside that comprise HMPE, respectively; an HMPE sheathed strand portion in which a basic rope is interpolated inside, and strands of an HMPE material are woven in a blade manner on the outside of the basic rope; a second fixing member located at the end of the HMPE sheathed strand portion and capable of fixing the HMPE sheathed strand portion so that it does not come loose; and a basic rope portion comprising a general PE material.

Abstract: A net retaining system includes a base component and a head component. The base component includes a first surface, an opposite second surface, a retention member provided to the first surface and a cradle projecting from the first surface and configured to grip a net rim near a net handle. The head component includes, a first engagement member facing a first direction, a second engagement member facing a second, opposite direction and a column having first and second ends. The first and second engagement members are configured for selective coupling with the retention member of the base component. The column separates the first and second engagement members and is configured to extend through the net handle so as to resist rotation relative to the net handle.

Abstract: The present invention relates generally to the field of fishing devices. More specifically, the present invention relates to a fishing net hoop device. The device is comprised of a hoop and a net. The hoop keeps the net open to increase the probability that fish will swim into the net. In one embodiment, the net is comprised of at least one fastener that attaches to the hoop, to allow the net to be removable so that damaged nets can be conveniently replaced. In one embodiment, the device is comprised of at least one transmitter, at least one tracking device, and at least one battery. The transmitter is in electrical communication with a mobile application on the user's smart device to allow a user to locate the device if it is lost in a body of water.

Abstract: A harvesting device particularly suited for harvesting artemia cysts. The invention in its various embodiments comprises a frame and a net coupled to the frame. The frame can include a front support frame, a rear support frame and a sledding frame. A net having a first end and a second end can be secured to the front and rear support frames respectively. In certain embodiments, the net has an aspect ratio or 4:1. One or more skids can be coupled to the frame. In certain embodiments, the skids are coupled to the sledding frame. In yet other embodiments, the skids are coupled to the sledding frame at substantially the joining of the front support frame and the sledding frame. The second end of the net can be attached to a conduit in communication with a harvest vessel by a coupling. The harvest vessel can include one or more dewatering stations in communication with the conduit.

Abstract: The invention discloses a universal connector, a method of making it, and a method of using it, by example. In a first embodiment, a universal connector is disclosed comprising an improved carabiner that incorporates a magnet into its structure. The carabiner magnet has a force of attraction of at least 2 kilograms to enable it to connect to any magnetic material. A second of many possible embodiments discloses the addition of hook and loop tape (i.e. a Velcro® strip) to enable the universal connector to connect to any other article having hook and loop tape. A third possible embodiment discloses the addition of a loop for connection to any strap or keychain, for example. A fourth contemplated embodiment discloses the addition of male and/or female snaps.

Abstract: A net for fishing or other purposes. The net includes a hoop frame connected to a pole by a yoke. The yoke defines sockets in which respective arms of the hoop frame and a distal end of the pole are received. Plugs in the arms of the hoop frame desirably prevent water from passing the plugs into the hoop frame. A plug in the distal end of the pole desirably prevents water from passing the plug into the pole. The yoke and plugs provide a robust connection of the hoop frame to the pole and help retain air in the hoop frame and pole for buoyancy of the net.
