Abstract: A fishing device includes a net disposed in a body of water containing fishes and a post installed near a perimeter of the net. The post further includes a stem, a cord, and a weight. A portion of the stem is above a surface of the body of water, and the cord is slidably secured to the stem. A first end of the cord is attached to the weight, and a second end of the cord is attached to the net. The weight is configured to move from a first position to a second position upon receiving wireless communication, and the first position is higher than the second position.

Abstract: A fishing device includes a base having a receiving member and a guiding sleeve securely connected to the receiving member. The guiding sleeve includes a positioning section at a distal end thereof for mounting a net. A first gate is mounted between the receiving member and the guiding sleeve, the first gate being openable only in a direction which towards the guiding sleeve. A movable seat is mounted in the guiding sleeve and includes an opening defined therein. A second gate is mounted in the opening and openable only in a direction the same as that of the first gate. A cylinder includes an end connected to the positioning section, and a piston rod is partially, reciprocatingly received in the cylinder. The piston rod includes an end securely attached to the movable seat to move therewith. The piston rod together with the movable seat are urged to reciprocatingly move in a longitudinal direction of the guiding sleeve. Movements of the piston rod and the movable seat cause a suction force in the receiving member.

Abstract: An apparatus that secures the buoy line and buoy to the top of the shellfish trap in an orderly manner until a galvanic timed release (GTR) coupling parts and releases the buoy to the sea surface. The GTR is a highly corrosive anode link which breaks after a predetermined period of immersion in seawater. After the GTR link breaks, the apparatus automatically releases the buoy. The unrestrained buoy rises to the surface so that the trap may be recovered. Until this time, marine mammals are protected from entanglement in the vertical buoy line. It is important that the buoy and, perhaps more importantly, the line associated with it, are packaged in a way to prevent fouling of the buoy lines. By design, the apparatus prevents the fouling of the buoy line that would result in the possible loss of the entire gear set.
