Abstract: A charging device for an electric vehicle has a first charging connector on the vehicle side for mechanically connecting to a second charging connector of an external charging station. The first charging connector has two contact elements for a DC charging process. A galvanic connection of the contact elements to an electric energy store is provided, wherein direct current flows into the electric energy store. A control device monitors the charging process and is capable of communicating with the charging station. The charging device has at least one contact element movable between a first and a second position. In the first position, the contact element is retracted in the first charging connector, and in the second position the contact element is arranged so as to contact a corresponding contact of the second charging connector when the first and the second charging connectors are mechanically connected.

Abstract: A method for bringing a vehicle closer to a vehicle-external primary charging unit configured to inductively charge the vehicle, where the vehicle includes a secondary charging unit, a camera system and a display device, includes the steps of a) capturing a real-time image of a vehicle environment using the camera system, wherein the primary charging unit is included in the real-time image, b) displaying the real-time image on the display device, and c) inserting at least one guide line into the real-time image. The direction and/or curvature of the guide line coincides with a steering angle lock of the vehicle such that the guide line corresponds to the trajectory of the vehicle in the case of the steering angle lock. The position of the at least one guide line in the real-time image of the vehicle environment is selected such that the guide line indicates a movement curve of the secondary charging unit of the vehicle. The method further includes indicating the movement curve of the secondary charging unit relative to the primary charging unit based on a movement of the vehicle by repeating steps a) to c).

Abstract: A method establishes a wireless communication connection between a vehicle communication unit of a vehicle and a charging station communication unit of a charging station. The method includes the transmission of a low-frequency signal via a LF transmission unit of the vehicle, wherein the LF request signal displays an identifier relating to the vehicle. The method also includes the receiving of the LF request signal via an LF receiving unit of the charging station. The method further includes the transmission of information relating to the identifier in a broadcast message via the charging station communication unit, as well as the receiving of the broadcast message via the vehicle communication unit. In addition, the method includes the checking of whether the broadcast message comprises the information relating to the identifier, and the establishing of a wireless communication connection between the vehicle communication unit and the charging station communication unit, if the broadcast message comprises the information relating to the identifier.
