摘要: The present disclosure provides coverings such as contact lenses which can be used to provide improved vision in an eye of a subject, such as a human or animal subject. The coverings may comprise a pillar and a plurality of fenestrations. In some cases, an annular region such as a lenticular volume may be formed on the eye of the subject which may provide enhance comfort while the covering is in use. The coverings provided herein may have uses and applications such as masking an astigmatism of an eye, correcting a refractive error of an eye, the treatment of an eye having epithelial defects, aberration correction, multifocal correction, presbyopia correction, and other applications. Some embodiments of the present disclosure comprise extended wear contact lenses.

摘要: A contact or spectacle lens for correcting peripheral ocular defocus which has a center zone in a central portion for correcting refractive errors and an aspheric, annular anti-defocus zone adjacent to and extending radially outwardly from the center zone. The vertical meridian of the anti-defocus zone is less aspheric than the horizontal meridian of the anti-defocus zone, and the horizontal and vertical meridians are blended with progressively changing e-values to form a smooth optical surface.

摘要: A contact lens, e.g., of the scleral type, having user-controllable colour changing. An electro-optical structure including at least one layer of a bistable electro-optical absorbent material, which, under the effect of the application of an electric field, can pass from at least one first stable state to at least one second stable state having different colorimetric absorption properties, and vice versa under the effect of the application of an electric field of opposite polarity. This change in state of the material leading to an alteration to the visible colour of the contact lens. The electro-optical structure extending in an annular region intended to cover the iris at least partially while leaving a central zone clear. An electronic circuit encapsulated in the lens and configured to subject the material to an electric field causing the change in state thereof in response to receiving a corresponding control signal.

摘要: An objective of the present invention is to provide a method for manufacturing a soft ocular lens in which the surface of the lens is hydrophilized by means of plasma processing, wherein a substrate surface can be sufficiently hydrophilized by performing, once, a reaction between the substrate and a hydrophilic polymer. Another object of the present invention is to provide a soft ocular lens with sufficient hydrophilicity which comprises only one layer comprising a hydrophilic polymer on a substrate surface. A substrate comprising a hydrocarbon group-containing polysiloxane is subjected to plasma processing with an inert gas such as nitrogen, to form a radical including Si—CH2 on the substrate surface, and produce radical rearrangement with a hydrophilic polymer, thereby causing the hydrophilic polymer to bind to the substrate surface by recombination of a radical generated in the hydrophilic polymer with the substrate.

摘要: Ophthalmic lenses for correcting refractive error of an eye are disclosed. Ophthalmic lenses include a deformable inner portion and a deformable peripheral portion. When disposed over the optical region of an eye, the inner portion is configured so that engagement of the posterior surface against the eye deforms the posterior surface so that the posterior surface has a shape diverging form the refractive shape of the epithelium when viewing with the eye through the ophthalmic lens. The rigidity of the inner portion is greater than the rigidity of the peripheral portion and the ophthalmic lenses are configured to allow movement relative to the eye upon blinking of the eye and to be substantially centered on the optical region of the cornea following the blinking of the eye. Methods of correcting refractive errors of an eye such as astigmatism or spherical aberration using the ophthalmic lenses are also disclosed.

摘要: Eyewear dynamically adjusts viewing effects to match the wearer, the object or scene being viewed (luminance, color prominence, glare, visual blur/noise), other conditions: sensory parameters (gaze direction, focal length, eye gestures, other eye activity, other senses, wearer inputs), medical conditions, wearer location, environmental parameters, wearer activity, use by the wearer, the wearer's field of view. The eyewear can adjust visual features presented to the wearer, such as changes in refraction, polarization/shading, color, prismatic angles/functions, 3D displays. Eyewear can be tailored to form factor: glasses, contacts, RID, IOL, facemask/helmet, vehicles, windows, screens, scopes, AR/VR devices, nerve sensors, external devices. Eyewear can adjust refraction, polarization/shading, color filtering/injection, false coloring, color change; prismatic angles/functions. Eyewear can respond to wearer activity: police, military, firefighter, emergency responder, search and rescue, vehicle operation, sporting/theme-park events, viewing advertising/storefronts, conversation. Hybrid optimization of eyewear can be personalized to users.
