摘要: A fluid pump includes an electric motor having an armature with a commutator and a motor frame which supports a pair of permanent magnets which are located radially outward from the armature. The motor frame has a support stem extending axially in a direction away from the commutator. A pump section is rotationally coupled to the electric motor and pumps the fluid. First and second motor brushes deliver electricity to the commutator and are urged into electrical contact with the commutator by a first and second springs. The first and second springs are mechanically grounded to a brush spring retainer fixed to the motor frame. The brush spring retainer includes a central portion having an opening within which the support stem is received in an interference fit. A support arm extends from the central portion such that the first and second springs are mechanically grounded to the support arm.

摘要: A cover for a fuel tank includes a flange unit configured to close an opening of the fuel tank and a joint member movably coupled to the flange unit. The joint member is configured to move in an upward/downward direction relative to the flange unit. Two side tubular portions extend from the flange unit in the upward/downward direction and are positioned side-by-side. Column portions extend in the upward/downward direction from the joint member. The column portions are moveably disposed in the side tubular portions. The column portions are configured to move in the upward/downward direction relative to the side tubular portions. The side tubular portions are connected to each other via a rear side wall and a front side wall of a center tubular portion disposed between the side tubular portions.

摘要: An in-tank fuel pump assembly and mounting system is disclosed which may be configured for mounting inside a fuel tank. The assembly includes a pump housing, pump mounted to the housing, and pressure relief valve. The housing may comprise upper and lower pump housing units coupled together. The upper housing unit is configured for mounting to a tank opening, which in one implementation may be the fuel fill opening. The lower housing unit extends into the tank to approximately the bottom of the tank. A fuel fill fluid pathway is created through the housing for adding fuel to the tank while the pump assembly remains in situ. The upper housing unit may include a removable fuel cap. The pump housing may include an integral vapor trap.

摘要: A fuel system includes a fuel reservoir configured to be located within the fuel tank such that the fuel reservoir defines a fuel reservoir volume which is a subset of a fuel tank volume; a fuel pump configured to pump fuel from within the fuel reservoir volume to the fuel consuming device through a fuel supply line; a jet pump configured to 1) receive excess fuel, through a fuel return line, which had been supplied to the fuel consuming device through the fuel supply line and 2) aspirate fuel into the fuel reservoir volume from the fuel tank volume; and a valve which allows fuel flow in both directions between the fuel return line and the jet pump when a differential pressure across the valve is greater than or equal to a predetermined threshold.
