    摘要: A fluid pump includes an electric motor having an armature with a commutator and a motor frame which supports a pair of permanent magnets which are located radially outward from the armature. The motor frame has a support stem extending axially in a direction away from the commutator. A pump section is rotationally coupled to the electric motor and pumps the fluid. First and second motor brushes deliver electricity to the commutator and are urged into electrical contact with the commutator by a first and second springs. The first and second springs are mechanically grounded to a brush spring retainer fixed to the motor frame. The brush spring retainer includes a central portion having an opening within which the support stem is received in an interference fit. A support arm extends from the central portion such that the first and second springs are mechanically grounded to the support arm.

    摘要: A method of manufacturing a commutator. A connector plate is formed with a plurality of connectors arranged circumferentially about a central opening and interconnected by links, with each connector having a terminal portion, a segment portion and a number of anchors, with adjacent segment portions being separated circumferentially by slits. A conductive layer is fixed onto a first face of the segment portions to form a brush contacting surface. The connectors are separated by severing the links. The base is fixed to a second face of the connectors. Then the conductive layer is separated into circumferentially arranged segment parts by cutting radial slots through the conductive layer aligned with the slits, the width of the slots being narrower that the width of the slits to avoid cutting the connectors.

    摘要: A commutator having a plurality of segments, a short-circuit member assembly, a holding portion, and a plurality of spacing members is disclosed. The short-circuit member assembly includes a plurality of short-circuit pieces. Each short-circuit piece has an outer terminal, an inner terminal arranged radially inward from the outer terminal and circumferentially offset from the outer terminal at a predetermined offset angle, and a connecting portion connecting the inner terminal to the outer terminal. The holding portion covers the segments and at least a portion of the short-circuit member assembly to hold the segments and the short-circuit member assembly. The spacing members each have an insulated support portion and a plurality of insulated spacing projections formed integrally with the support portion. Each support portion extends in a radial direction of the short-circuit member assembly. The spacing projections are arranged in the direction in which the corresponding support members extend in such a manner that the spacing projections are each provided between the corresponding circumferentially adjacent pair of the connecting portions.

    摘要: This invention provides a built-up commutator which can effectively contribute to light weight and small size thereof due to decreasing the number of constitutional components and enhancing an assembling accuracy, and provides a micro-motor employing the built-up commutator. According to FIG. 1, a built-up commutator includes at least a supporting pedestal 13 and a plurality of commutator pieces each of which is disposed respectively, the supporting pedestal fixed in flange-shape to a rotating shaft, each of the commutator pieces including a foot piece formed as to abut on the supporting pedestal side and a uprising piece bent from the foot piece side and formed as to abut the rotating shaft side, each of the commutator pieces is positioned and fixed to the shaft 12 side and the pedestal 13 side with air gaps intervening between the commutator pieces and an insulating layer intervening on contact surfaces with the shaft 12 and with the pedestal 13. A micro-motor of the invention is formed as to housing the built-up commutator 11.

    摘要: An electric motor provides a carbon contact member of a commutator from colliding with a brush holder. A projection is formed in the brush holder so that it projects toward an end face of a resin mold of an armature. An end face of this projection, which is opposed to the end face of the resin mold of the armature, is positioned in the axial direction so as to form a clearance between the contact members and the brush holder when the armature is moved toward the brush holder by an external force and the end face comes in contact with the end face. As a result, if shock is applied to the fuel pump and the armature moves toward the brush holder, the contact members of the commutator are prevented from colliding with the brush holder. It thereby becomes possible to prevent the carbon contact members from being damaged.
