A modified ethylene-vinyl alcohol resin composition including: a modified ethylene-vinyl alcohol resin having 1 to 16.5 mol % of a primary hydroxy group structural unit at a side chain; and a conjugated polyene, wherein the resin composition exhibits not less than five melting peaks when subjected to differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) according to specific analysis conditions.

A method for manufacturing a semiconductor device by using underfill material includes: a semiconductor chip mounting step configured to mount a semiconductor chip having a solder bump on a substrate via an underfill film including a film forming resin having a weight average molecular weight of not more than 30000 g/mol and a molecular weight distribution of not more than 2.0, an epoxy resin, and an epoxy curing agent; and a reflow step configured to solder-bond the semiconductor chip and the substrate by a reflow furnace. The film forming resin of the underfill material has a weight average molecular weight of not more than 30000 g/mol and a molecular weight distribution of not more than 2.0, and accordingly, the viscosity at the time of heat melting can be reduced, and a semiconductor chip can be mounted at a low pressure.

Provided is a thermoplastic resin composition which exhibits little dependence of air permeability on fatigue. The present invention is a thermoplastic resin composition which comprises an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer and a polyamide resin, said thermoplastic resin composition being characterized in that only one maximal peak point assignable to crystallization is observed in the curve of heat flow versus temperature as determined by differential scanning calorimetry of a melt-kneaded mixture of 25 parts by mass of the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer and 75 parts by mass of the polyamide resin in a cooling process.

A plastic preform, container or article includes a multilayer wall having at least one layer of a matrix resin, at least one layer of a barrier resin, an adhesion-promoting material blended with the barrier resin and/or matrix resin, and an active oxygen barrier composition blended with the barrier resin and/or matrix resin. The adhesion-promoting material promotes bonding between the barrier and matrix resin layers and includes an amine polymer, preferably an imine polymer having a number of available primary, secondary or tertiary amine groups. The matrix resin preferably is an ester-containing resin, such as PET. The barrier resin preferably is EVOH. The active oxygen barrier composition includes a metal with an additive compound, and may also include a host polymer.

A resin composition, contains: a thermoplastic polyurethane (A); a thermoplastic polyurethane (B); and an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (C), wherein an isocyanate group content (mole) in raw materials of the thermoplastic polyurethane (A) is greater than a hydroxyl group content (mole) therein, an isocyanate group content (mole) in raw materials of the thermoplastic polyurethane (B) is nearly equal to a hydroxyl group content (mole) therein, and the thermoplastic polyurethane (B) and the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (C) have a mass ratio (B/C) of from 70/30 to 99/1 and a content of the thermoplastic polyurethane (A), based on 100 parts by mass of a total of the thermoplastic polyurethane (B) and the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (C), is from 1 to 30 parts by mass. Thus, a resin composition is provided that contains thermoplastic polyurethanes and an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer and is good in melt shapability.

It is the object of the present invention to provide a method of producing, in an industrially advantageous manner, an ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer aqueous dispersion which has a high concentration and is excellent in long-term storage stability and in which the resin particles in the aqueous dispersion obtained are small in particle diameter.The present invention is a method of producing an ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer aqueous dispersion, which comprises: (1) a step of dissolving an ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer in a mixed solvent comprising 5 to 65% by weight of water and 35 to 95% by weight of a water-soluble organic solvent, with heating, (2) a step of cooling a solution obtained in said step to precipitate the ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer, (3) a step of reducing a concentration of the water-soluble organic solvent in said mixed solvent to a level lower than 35% by weight relative to the total amount of the water and water-soluble organic solvent by adding water, and (4) a step of distilling off said water-soluble organic solvent.

Disclosed are resin compositions that are the reaction product of epihalohydrin with a mixture of polyaminoamide and vinyl amine polymer containing a minimum of about 1 mole % vinyl amine monomer units, wherein said polyaminoamide comprises the reaction product of dicarboxylic acid, or a derivative thereof, with polyamine selected from the group consisting of methyl bis(3-aminopropyl)amine and polyalkylenepolyamine containing from two to four alkylene groups having two to four carbons, two primary amine groups, and one to three secondary amine groups. Also disclosed are a process for creping fibrous webs utilizing the resin compositions, and creped paper prepared by the process. Also disclosed is wet and dry strength paper containing the resin compositions and processes for creping fibrous webs utilizing the resin compositions as creping adhesives.
