摘要: Embodiments relate to use of Limestone Rock Aggregate (“LRA”) as a component used to manufacture clinker, wherein the clinker is used in the manufacture of Portland cement. LRA is a naturally occurring limestone deposit that has been impregnated with various bituminous and hydrocarbon components, including asphaltenes and lighter hydrocarbons. Because of the presence of hydrocarbon components, LRA is “energy positive” making it easier (e.g., requiring less energy) to kiln heat than pure, or common, limestone. As will be explained herein, the LRA can be treated before being used as a component cement manufacture. The treatment of the LRA can involve removal, or extraction, of certain bituminous material (e.g., light hydrocarbons from the LRA). This extracted bituminous material can be used in other material processes (e.g., crude oil refining). The treatment of LRA can also involve manipulating the gradation of crushed LRA material to improve its minerology for cement production.

摘要: A hydrocarbon feed stream is exposed to heat in an absence of oxygen to the convert the hydrocarbon feed stream into a solids stream and a gas stream. The gas stream is separated into an exhaust gas stream and hydrogen. The carbon is separated from the solids stream as a carbon stream. Electrolysis is performed on a water stream to produce an oxygen stream and hydrogen. The oxygen and a portion of the carbon are combined to generate power and a carbon dioxide stream. At least a portion of the carbon stream, cement, and water are mixed to form a concrete mixture. The concrete mixture can be used to produce ready-mix concrete and precast concrete. Carbon dioxide used for curing the concrete can be sourced from the carbon dioxide stream produced by power generation.

摘要: The invention relates to processes for making steel-microfiber reinforced ultra high performance concrete using recycled glass powder and articles made from the same. The invention includes a process of mixing first dry constituents of fine aggregate and cement to yield a first dry mix, followed by mixing with second dry constituents consisting of 2.5-6.0 micron recycled glass powder, silica fume, silica flour, cenospheres, and optionally microinclusions to obtain a UHPC dry mix, followed by adding water only, with further mixing, then adding a superplasticizer admix and a water-reducing admix to obtain ultra high performance concrete paste, followed by adding steel microfibers that are 13 mm×0.2 mm.

The thermal insulation material preferably further contains one or more selected from the group consisting of a silica-based hollow balloon, a silicate mineral, and diatomaceous earth. The thermal insulation material has, for example, a board-shaped form. In a method for producing a thermal insulation material, a raw material containing sodium silicate, alumina cement, and smoked charcoal is heated to cause a dehydration condensation reaction of the sodium silicate to occur.

摘要: A method of sealing propagating cracks in a sensor-laden cement sheath comprising the steps of monitoring an electrical resistivity of the sensor-laden cement sheath to produce a measured value, wherein the sensor-laden cement sheath comprises a conductive sensor, an on-demand expanding agent, and a cement, activating a heat source when the measured value of the electrical resistivity is greater than an activation threshold, increasing a temperature of the sensor-laden cement sheath with the heat source to an activation temperature, wherein the activation temperature is operable to initiate a reaction between the on-demand expanding agent and water, wherein the activation temperature is greater than a formation temperature, reacting the on-demand expanding agent with water to produce a swelled agent, wherein the swelled agent occupies a greater volume than the on-demand expanding agent, and sealing the propagating cracks in the sensor-laden cement sheath with the swelled agent.
