    摘要: A seat for an off-road racing vehicle including a single piece molded shell having a seat back with a head rest, side panels and a seat bottom with a thigh support, where the shell is covered by an upholstery. The seat also includes a seat cushion positioned on the seat bottom and having two foam layers, namely, a top thin foam layer and a bottom thick energy absorbing foam layer that are secured together, where the combination of the layers is capable of absorbing high energy Z-direction forces. In one non-limiting embodiment, the top layer is a methylenediphenyl isocyanate (MDI) polyurethane foam and is 12 mm thick, and the bottom layer is an open-cell energy absorbing urethane foam and is 38 mm thick.

    摘要: An assembly includes a seat bottom, a scissor mechanism, and a pyrotechnic actuator. The seat bottom includes a rear seat cushion and a front seat cushion in a seat-forward direction from the rear seat cushion. The rear seat cushion is movable between a raised position and a lowered position relative to the front seat cushion. The scissor mechanism is coupled to the rear seat cushion and movable between an extended position and a compressed position. The scissor mechanism in the extended position holds the rear seat cushion at the raised position. The scissor mechanism in the compressed position holds the rear seat cushion at the lowered position. The pyrotechnic actuator is connected to the rear seat cushion and dischargeable to move the rear seat cushion from the raised position to the lowered position.

    摘要: A bracket for attaching an actuator is easily bonded to a side frame while avoiding interference with a shaft for driving a reclining mechanism. In a seat side frame which is provided at each of both ends of a seat back frame in the width direction, a reclining mechanism, and an actuator, the reclining mechanism is attached to a side wall of the side frame, and the actuator is fixed to an attachment bracket bonded to an inner surface of a portion to which the reclining mechanism is attached in the side wall in the width direction. An upper portion which is disposed above the attachment portion of the reclining mechanism and a lower portion which is disposed below the attachment portion thereof are connected to each other at the rear ends thereof and are separated from each other at the front ends thereof.

    摘要: A device for constraining rotational motion of an actuator such as a seat actuator during a dynamic event. The device includes a first part attachable to a fixed frame member and carrying a first clip, and a second part attachable to an actuator and carrying a second clip. Prior to and following a dynamic event sufficient to cause actuator rotational motion the first clip and the second clip are disengaged. During the dynamic event the second clip is configured to engage the first clip to momentarily stop rotational motion of the actuator such that load on the actuator passes through the actuator shaft into the frame. In embodiments, the device is configured to minimize actuator deformation during a dynamic event while allowing a full range of standard motion during normal use of the actuator.

    摘要: Systems and methods are provided for improved and intuitive adjustment of a vehicle headrest. A vehicle headrest adjustment system may include touch sensors and/or motion sensors to determine a driver or passenger intends to adjust a vehicle headrest. Upon detection of touch consistent with intent to adjust a vehicle headrest and/or a hand gesture consistent with intent to adjust a vehicle headrest, a system may unlock a vehicle headrest. A driver or passenger may move the unlocked vehicle headrest into the desired position. Upon detection of a condition indicating the driver or passenger is finished and/or upon a set period of time elapsing, the system may re-lock the vehicle headrest into place. A vehicle headrest adjustment system may also include a power-assist function. The power-assist function may include motors and force sensors to assist a driver or passenger in moving a vehicle headrest into a desired position.
