摘要: The present invention particularly relates to a method for physical vacuum deposition of a coating (R) comprising at least one material (M) on at least a portion of a front face (10) of a support (1), said at least one material (M) originating from an evaporation source or an atomisation source (2), wherein: —use is made of a support (1), at least a portion of the front face (10) of which is smooth, that is to say, does not have any roughness and/or reliefs and/or recesses; —said vacuum deposition is carried out while varying the thickness distribution of the material (M) on said front face (10), that is, while progressively varying the thickness deposited, from a central region (11) in the direction of at least one lateral region (12) contiguous to the central region (11), without modifying the position of the evaporation source or atomisation source (2) of the material particles (M).

摘要: A substrate is printed with front side and back side markings in a first color ink. The front side when viewed with reflected light includes a first marking printed in a first saturation and a first symbol printed in the first saturation. The back side when viewed with reflected light includes: a second marking printed in a second saturation; a second symbol printed in the second saturation; a third marking printed in the first saturation; and a third symbol printed in the first saturation. The first marking, the second marking, and the third marking are printed to provide an interlocking pattern of low saturation color and high saturation color when viewed with transmitted light. The second symbol is visible, and the first symbol and the third symbol are visible and indistinguishable, when viewed with transmitted light.

摘要: A method is provided by the invention for making a security document comprising a thermoplastic substrate with a UV light cured printed image that is less likely to result in splitting of the ink of the UV light cured printed image during the lamination step of forming the thermoplastic substrate. The UV light cured image is applied to an interior thermoplastic layer surface of a stack of thermoplastic layers configured to form a thermoplastic substrate upon lamination of the stack and comprises numerous small sub-portions having small gaps between them sufficient to permit relative movement of individual sub-portions during lamination, the thermoplastic layer(s) from the ultraviolet light cured image to an exterior surface of the stack being sufficiently see-through that the image is visible upon viewing the security document. Alternatively, or additionally, the image is applied to an interior surface of an outermost thermoplastic layer of the stack adjacent an intermediate thermoplastic layer of the stack wherein the outermost thermoplastic layer has a higher melting point than the melting point of at least the adjacent intermediate thermoplastic layer.
