摘要: An antibacterial and antifungal polyester material is provided, which includes a polyester resin substrate material and a plurality of functional polyester master-batches. The functional polyester master-batches are dispersed in the polyester resin substrate material. Each of the functional polyester master-batches includes a polyester resin matrix material and an antibacterial and antifungal additive. The antibacterial and antifungal additive includes a plurality of glass beads. The glass beads are dispersed in the polyester resin matrix material, and a plurality of silver nanoparticles are distributed on an outer surface of each of the glass beads.

The nanoparticles may be sulfidated to decrease the silver leaching rate and sustain the biocidal properties. Such nanoparticles may be applied as a coating or additive to substrates such as metals, alloys, polymers, membranes, textiles, and other such materials, allowing for the substrates to exhibit antimicrobial properties.

摘要: Compositions and methods of use thereof for delivering an insecticide to water-borne insect larvae are provided. Whereas individual cells of the insecticidal bacteria such as Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis (Bti), are effective in killing insect larvae when ingested by same, their use in aqueous environments is restricted by the time that the bacterial cells remain suspended in water and hence available for ingestion by the larvae. To increase the time that the insecticidal bacteria remain in suspension, it has now been found advantageous to mix bacterial suspensions with nanoparticles comprising carbon that attach to the external surface of the cells.

摘要: Stabilized liquid agrochemical compositions are provided that comprise flowable, aqueous dispersion concentrates comprising a) a continuous aqueous liquid phase; b) at least one dispersed, solid phase comprising a dispersion of polymer particles having a mean particle size of at least one micron, wherein the outside surfaces of the particles comprise a colloidal solid material and wherein the particles have at least one agrochemically active ingredient distributed therein, optionally a non-porous particulate mineral that acts as a diffusion barrier to slow the release of the active ingredient, and optionally at least one non-cross-linkable mobile chemical such that the extraction of this chemical from the disperse phase renders it porous in a manner that allows the active ingredient to diffuse out. The colloidal solid is used to stabilize the polymerizable resin in an emulsion state during preparation. In one embodiment, the agrochemically active ingredient is a solid and is distributed within the dispersed solid phase or is a liquid and is distributed within the dispersed solid phase. The compositions of the invention can be used directly or with dilution to combat pests or as plant growth regulators.

摘要: A method for formulating a cleaning composition contains the step of coating a granular absorbent material with a coating agent to produce a coated absorbent material and mixing the coated absorbent material with a sanitation agent, wherein the coated absorbent material absorbs the sanitation agent to form the cleaning composition. The resulting cleaning composition may be used for cleaning up pathogens or hazardous materials. The cleaning composition may also functions as a liquefiable dry cleaning powder for public areas in response to bodily fluid incidents. A coating method of a non-toxic bio static film on a high surface area solid is disclosed.
