摘要: Moisturized organic material is treated by communicating with a vacuum pump (44) to selectively reduce pressure within a vessel (12) below atmospheric pressure and to a vaporization point, such as at 30 to 17.8° C., for a period of time sufficient to create an internal pressure to rupture cell walls. While being subjected to vacuum below atmospheric pressure, the vessel (12) is rotated to homogenize the moisturized organic material. The organic material can be moisturized by non-potable water including moisture collected by a moisture collector (44b) in the conduit (44a) between the vessel (12) and the vacuum pump (44) and by chilled feed water acting as the seal fluid in the vacuum pump and heated while flowing through a heat exchanger (148) of the moisture collector (44b). Heat can be added by a heater (46) to raise the temperature of low ambient temperature moisturized organic material.

摘要: A device includes a compartment for separating the solids and liquids. The compartment includes a base that is concavely curved according to a cylindrical portion having a transverse axis and is formed of a sieve, an idler roller mounted transversely on an arm, a drive which actuates the arm, and resilient means for adjusting the pressure exerted by the rollers. Both the contact interface between the sieve and the roller and the rotational interface between the roller and the arm are made of a non-metal material on at least one of the two contacting surfaces that form each of the interfaces, such that, there is no metal-on-metal contact between surfaces moving relative to one another at the interfaces.

摘要: A portable, user shoulder supported spreader/blower unit includes an ergonomically configured housing which includes a section defining a storage bin for holding a quantity of salt or like chemical particulate material for spreading onto ground surfaces to prevent icing thereon in winter. A centrifugal distributor disk is located in a housing space section below the bin and, a bin discharge aperture aligns over a peripheral area of the distributor disk. A user controllable closure member selectively alters bin discharge aperture size and, hence, outflow quantity from the bin onto the distributor disk, the distributor disk rotating at high speed propelling particulate material out of the housing through a discharge nozzle thereon at a high speed. e.g., 60 m/sec when the unit is user in a spreader mode. To further enhance carry of the particulate material from the housing, a fan impeller mounted in the housing in the common space wherein the distributor disk operates, is rotated at high speed to produce air flow supplementing energy imparted to the particulate material. When the unit is used in a blower mode such as in a leaf collection operation, high pressure air from an outside source can be introduced into the unit so the airstream discharge from the unit is optimized to that required for leaf blowing.

摘要: A method and apparatus for converting spent water-based drilling mud into fertile indigenous top soil at a well site or location. The fertile indigenous top soil is produced by the steps of: admixing, at a well site, effective amounts of spent water-based drilling mud, mature compost, organic fertilizer, and top soil from the well site to provide a mixture containing spent water-based drilling mud, from about 30 to about 150 volume percent mature compost, from about 5 to 20 volume percent organic fertilizer, and from about 5 to 20 volume percent top soil from the well site wherein each of the volume percents is based on the volume of the spent water-based drilling mud present in the mixture; stirring the mixture for a period of time effective to form a substantially homogenous mixture; and drying the substantially homogenous mixture so as to provide fertile indigenous top soil possessing similar microbial and enzyme characteristics as the top soil at the well site.

摘要: A method of farming comprises collecting waste material such as manure from animal farming, or effluent from food processing plants or the like in a closed container, stirring and aerating the material within the container and adding yeast and phosphoric acid to increase aerobic bacterial activity while reducing anaerobic bacteria and rendering the material into a pumpable liquid. The collected manure is stored in a cylindrical container having a plastics liner and roof and is used as a fire suppressant material for dowsing fires in the farm buildings by providing a pump and hose on the container or hydrant located adjacent to the buildings.
