A micro-carbon bio-fertilizer for rapidly increasing a soil granular structure and a preparation method thereof are provided. The formula composition of the micro-carbon bio-fertilizer by mass percentage is: 30-60% of micro carbons, and 40-70% of plant fibers. The preparation process includes is that: preparation of raw materials; filtration and purification of the raw materials; biodegradation; canning of semi-finished product; dispensing and mixing; sedimentation and achievement of finished product. The macromolecular carbohydrates contained in the industrial wastewater rich in organic matters are activated into micro carbons of 100 μm in average through biotechnologies. The micro carbons have natural affinity with soil and split the soil into small particles which are gathered to form a granular structure. Such a granular structure mitigates the degree of soil hardening and acidification, while quickly increasing soil fertility and improving crop quality and yield.

A process is disclosed for creating biologically active soil or horticulture media for growing plants, wherein a fibrous carbon source such as coconut coir in a predetermined particulate form is mixed with fertilizers and other biological nutrients, inoculated with a biologically active substance such as worm castings and then aged or cured in an oxygen rich aerobic process. After which additional nutrients can be added to tailor the aged media for a specific sue. Various apparatus with which to conduct the aging process are also described. In a variation of the process used soil or horticulture media is recharged by first composting at a high temperature to remove harmful and unwanted items, its contents are evaluated, nutrients are added, and it is then aged in an aerobic process.

The present invention relates to a composition for fertilizing desert land and making it agricultural, characterized in that it comprises animal excrement, plant waste, bentonite in an amount greater than 10%, essential macronutrients, essential micronutrients, agricultural sulphur, algae and effective microorganisms. The invention will be of use in agriculture, in particular for increasing the yields of soils that are not very fertile, such as deserts which form most of the countries of North Africa and the Middle East. Deserts are among the only lands which are not polluted because of overgrazing and the exhaustive use of chemical fertilizers. It is therefore essential to respect these lands and to limit the pollution thereof. The composition according to the invention comprises animal and plant waste. The recycling of this agricultural waste contributes to improving atmospheric and soil pollution by limiting the burning of waste that is harmful to the environment and to human health. The composition also makes it possible to combat global warming, in particular by recycling the waste and saving water, 80% of the use of which is for agriculture in developing countries. By creating new agricultural lands, it will be possible to create jobs and the food sufficiency of this country will be improved. The use of the present composition falls within an approach of sustainable development and green technology.

The invention is directed to processes for treating biosolids that result in high-value, nitrogen-containing, slow-release, organically-augmented inorganic fertilizer that are competitive with less valuable or more costly conventional commercially manufactured fertilizers. The process involves conditioning traditional waste-water biosolids and processing the conditioned biosolids continuously in a high throughput manufacturing facility. The exothermic design and closed loop control of the primary reaction vessel decreases significantly the amount of power necessary to run a manufacturing facility. The process utilizes green technologies to facilitate decreased waste and enhanced air quality standards over traditional processing plants. The fertilizer produced from recovered biosolid waste is safe and meets or exceeds the United States Environment Protection Agency (USEPA) Class A and Exceptional Quality standards and is not subject to restrictions or regulations.

A dryer receives the composted material and discharges a dried composted material. The invention also provides a method for treating waste material by anaerobic digestion to produce a nutrient rich liquor and adsorbing nutrients from this liquor onto a core material comprising a carbonate mineral. Also provided are the uses of a carbonate mineral for adsorbing phosphorus from anaerobic digestion liquor and for the control release of phosphorus from a fertiliser.
