    A wave conductor for electromagnetic waves, preferably a millimeter-wave wave conductor, in particular for a digital communication application, with a conductor core and a one conductor sheathing. The conductor sheathing surrounds the conductor core at least partially in the longitudinal direction and at least partially in the circumferential direction of the wave conductor. One longitudinal section of the wave conductor has cross-sections which deviate from a circle at the outside of the wave conductor and/or at the outside of the conductor sheathing.
    Further, a waveguide connector for electromagnetic waves, preferably millimeter-wave waveguide connectors, in particular flying or installable waveguide connectors for a wave conductor. The waveguide connector has a wave conductor plug-in recess in which a longitudinal section of the wave conductor is directly placeable. The wave conductor plug-in recess has an inner circumference coding formation by means of which the wave conductor is placeable in at least one specific orientation in the wave conductor plug-in recess.

    摘要: A system of at least three concave mirrors (M1, M2, M3 . . . ) of cylindrical form are arranged with the concave part of the first mirror M1 facing towards the second mirror M2 and with the planes defined by the straight sections of the two mirrors which are perpendicular to each other. The arrangement further has the concave part of the third mirror M3 facing towards the second mirror M2 with the planes defined by the straight sections of the two mirrors M3, M2 perpendicularly to each other. Successive mirrors are placed in a crosswise fashion with respect to their nearest neighbor in order to provide for applications in the guiding of millimeter and sub-millimeter electromagnetic waves for plasma physics.

    摘要: A receiver module including a mode launcher, a band pass filter, a local oscillator and a balanced mixer for use in the frequency range 1 GHz to 1,000 GHz, wherein the components are all connected by an insular waveguide transmission line having a conductive image plane, a dielectric waveguide attached to the image plane by a thin film of plastic, the thin film being low loss in character and having a low permittivity compared with that of the dielectric waveguide, the ratio between the thickness of the thin film and the square root of the cross-sectional area of the dielectric waveguide being in the range from about 0.02 to about 1.0.; there also are disclosed signal processing components made of insular waveguide transmission lines including a directional coupler, a symmetrical quadrature hybrid coupler, and a ring resonator filter that can be used as a band rejection or band pass filter either with a single pole or multiple pole, as well as mode launchers for connecting the insular waveguide transmission line to a metal waveguide and a coaxial line.

    摘要: A quasi-optical integrated circuit which makes use of a high resistivity k single crystal intrinsic semiconductor as a low loss quasi-optical wave transmission medium for millimeter and submillimeter waves having one or more circuit elements or devices disposed either at or near the surface of a portion of the semiconductor, or formed within a portion of either the semiconductor transmission medium or a portion of a high resistivity single crystal intrinsic semiconductor appendage to said semiconductor transmission medium. By varying the potential applied to said elements or devices, one can control either the phase or the amplitude of quasi-optical wave propagation along the semiconductor waveguide; moreover, solid state devices such as quasi-optical generators, mixers and detectors can be formed within the semiconductor wave transmission medium itself. Quasi-optical generators also can be obtained by inserting a negative resistance device in an aperture disposed within a cavity resonator which is made of a material of high dielectric constant and high resistivity.
