摘要: A switch device may comprise a micro-relay disposed between a first terminal and a second terminal. The micro-relay may be configured to selectively electrically couple the first terminal to the second terminal. The switch device may further comprise a bypass circuit configured to selectively divert at least a portion of electrical current flowing from the first terminal to the micro-relay, and direct the diverted electrical current to the second terminal. The switch device may further comprise an energy harvesting circuit configured to (i) withdraw a portion of energy flowing into the switch device, (ii) store the portion of energy in an energy storage device, and (iii) supplying the energy stored in the energy storage device to one or more components within the switch device.

摘要: A circuit breaker device includes a bimetallic overcurrent protection element which is configured to be placed in series with an integrated replaceable fuse. The replaceable fuse may be faster-acting than the bimetallic overcurrent protection element, and may be higher-rated than the bimetallic overcurrent protection element. The circuit breaker device may include an electrically isolated terminal stud having a height sufficient to retain the replaceable fuse thereon, the electrically isolated terminal stud not directly connected to the bimetallic overcurrent protection element, so that current can only flow through the bimetallic overcurrent protection element when a replaceable fuse comprising an intact fuse element is supported on the electrically isolated terminal stud.

摘要: A safety apparatus is a terminal shield having an indication circuit incorporated therein. The safety apparatus is usable with a circuit interrupter to overlie one or more terminals of the circuit interrupter that are connected with line and load conductors and to thereby form a circuit interrupter apparatus. The safety apparatus can be employed at the line side of a circuit interrupter, at the load side of a circuit interrupter, or at both sides of a circuit interrupter. The safety apparatus can be provided as part of a new circuit interrupter apparatus or can be provided to retrofit existing circuit interrupters. The indication circuit advantageously outputs from a top surface of the terminal shield one of a visual indication and an audible indication when one or more terminals of the circuit interrupter are electrified, thereby easily conveying to a technician the portions of the circuit interrupter that are electrified.

The first control unit is configured to change the first control unit's standard tripping characteristics to emergency tripping characteristics based on detecting the internal device failure of the second circuit breaker.
