摘要: Sufficient welding of multiple metal wires in at least a portion of a conductive member that is constituted by multiple metal wires is enabled. The conductive member includes multiple metal wires each including a metal strand and a metal covering layer formed around the metal strand, and a joined portion in which the metal wires are joined by melting of alloy portions of the metal covering layers, the alloy portions including the metal that forms the metal strands. The joined portion can be formed by joining the metal wires to each other by performing heating at a temperature higher than the melting point of the alloy portions of the metal covering layers, the alloy portions including the metal that forms the metal strands.

摘要: It is aimed to provide a technology for reducing the loosening of strands in a short-cut braided conductor. A short braided conductor 1 is obtained by cutting a long braided conductor 10 configured by braiding a plurality of strands 11 into a tubular shape to a desired cutting length (L1). The strands 11 are, for example, configured by conductors such as bare soft copper wires, oxygen-free soft copper wires or tin-plated soft copper wires. A spiral pitch (P1) of the strands 11 in this braided conductor 1 is preferably not less than twice and not more than five times of the cutting length (L1), more preferably not less than twice and not more than three times the cutting length (L1).

摘要: An electric fence line for use in confining livestock is formed of strands of a high strength and high visibility electrically insulative material, which have been woven, twisted, or braided, together with at least one highly electrically conductive low electrical resistance metal strand, such as copper wire, and at least one high-strength metal strand of higher electrical resistance, such as stainless steel. The metal strands are oriented in touching relation, either continuously or at positions spaced longitudinally of the metal strands, the high-strength metal strand providing an electrical bridge between ends of the highly electrically conductive strand or strands in the event of breakage of the highly electrically conductive strand, whereby to provide electrical continuity in the fence line with only a minimal increase in the total electrical resistance of the fence line.

摘要: A conductive member production method is performed with use of a die that includes a first die and a second die. The first die includes a protruding portion having a recession-shaped depression formed in a leading end surface, the depression including a molding surface that is inclined so as to gradually extend toward the leading end surface side while extending laterally from the depression. The second die includes a recessed portion into which the protruding portion can be inserted. The method includes a heating step of heating a weld portion formation region that is a portion, with respect to an extending direction, of a conductive member constituted by multiple metal strands, and a pressing step in which the heated weld portion formation region is sandwiched between and pressed by the protruding portion of the first die and the recessed portion of the second die.
