Abstract:
The flow of a fluid such as water is controlled through an outlet by detecting sound within an environment at a first time and generating a first profile based upon the content of the sound detected at the first time. The flow of the fluid is further controlled by detecting sound within the environment at a second time and generating a second profile based upon the content of the sound detected at the second time. The flow of the fluid is still further controlled by comparing the second profile with the first profile and controlling a control valve to shut off a supply of the fluid exiting a tap based upon the results of the comparison.
Abstract:
A valve assembly adapted for implantation into the vas deferens of a male patient. The valve assembly is operable in a first mode to block the flow of sperm and in a second mode to permit the flow of sperm. The surgeon is permitted to shift the valve assembly between its first and second functional modes by moving a moveable valve member. The valve assembly includes a valve retention feature for releasably retaining the valve member is a selected position associated with each of the two distinct functional modes.
Abstract:
Electronic control system for a submarine actuator, said actuator comprising a container body, from which a drive shaft projects that is suitable for inserting in a seat of said submarine device. The system comprises an electronic control board for at least one electric motor arranged inside said container body suitable for moving said drive shaft.
Abstract:
A governor spring bracket assembly that attaches to an exterior surface of a shaft-mounted governor valve assembly for an automatic transmission is disclosed. The present governor spring bracket assembly functions to counterbalance the effect of centrifugal force on the governor valve weights, which is generated by rotation of the governor with the transmission output shaft. The present governor spring bracket assembly aligns and supports a calibrated compression spring in functional engagement with the primary governor valve weight to return it to its closed position in relation to the governor output circuit at low output shaft speeds thereby preventing excessive governor output pressure, 2nd gear starts, and improper shift timing.
Abstract:
A centrifugal adjuster for a fuel injection pump governor having a driving part driven at an rpm in synchronism with the engine and having a torsionally elastically coupled flyweight holder guided in a rotational guide. Via a step, beyond a predetermined rotational deflection, the centrifugal adjuster displaces the flyweight holder axially with respect to the driving part, so that a jolt-like stroke effected by means of the step is superimposed on the regulating stroke effected via the flyweights of the centrifugal adjuster whenever the rpm is at a low level, for instance at idling rpm. As a result, a friction that leads to see-sawing of the engine and exhibits pronounced hysteresis is shaken out of the governor.
Abstract:
A resilient drive for a fuel injection pump governor comprising a resilient coupling connecting the governor speed sensing mechanism to the governor shaft. In a preferred embodiment, the governor flyweight assembly is rotatably mounted with respect to the governor shaft and is connected thereto by a resilient coupling which permits the limited momentary rotation of the flyweight assembly with respect to the shaft to dampen torsional vibrations.
Abstract:
An overspeed control means for pneumatic tools which includes a split ring valve slidably arranged in a circumferential groove formed in a cage member affixed to the rotor shaft of the tool. When the cage member exceeds a predetermined rotational speed, the ring valve will expand and be moved, by pressure differential acting thereupon, into engagement with a valve seat to block holes in a flow circuit for pneumatic medium being conducted to the rotor of the tool, whereby tool operation is terminated.
Abstract:
A manual speed control member and a centrifugal governor act in combination to select a desired position for a fuel injection pump control rod to control the fuel injection volume. A pressure sensitive unit acts to limit movement of the control rod in a direction to increase the fuel injection volume to a point where maximum power is obtainable but smoky exhaust is prevented. The pressure sensitive unit is automatically disconnected from the control rod to provide maximum fuel injection volume for starting the engine.
Abstract:
In a fuel injection pump associated with an internal combustion engine, the fuel quantities injected during each pressure stroke on the one hand and the injection start on the other hand are separately regulated as a function of the engine-rpm by two groups of centrifugal weights, each group displacing a separate governor member moving independently from the other.
