摘要： A torque motor comprises a frame including a pair of opposed and spaced side members formed from a material having a high magnetic permeability. A cavity is defined between the members in which is mounted a pivotal permanent magnet, the cavity also including a winding so that when the winding is energised, the magnet will tend to turn about the pivotal axis. The side members are interconnected at their side edges by a pair of plate members formed from electrically conductive but non-magnetic material, the plate members acting to provide eddy current damping when the magnet is moved relative to the frame.

摘要： A method of manufacturing a battery plate grid includes the steps of applying a layer of conductive material onto a mould, inserting a conductive battery plate lug having an extension integral therewith into the mould, filling the remainder of the mould with particles of a sinterable, thermo-plastic synthetic resin material, heating the synthetic resin material until the resin is fully sintered, the extension of the lug thereby being trapped by the sintered resin and the conductive material from the mould thereby becoming firmly adhered to the lower surface of the sintered resin as a continuous, conducting layer, cooling the sintered resin until it hardens, and then removing the resultant grid from the mould.

The guide member and the coupling between the ladle assembly and the guide member is such that during the final portion of the movement of the ladle assembly into the emptying station the ladle assembly is tilted so as to pour the molten metal from the ladle.

摘要： A lamp assembly for a vehicle includes a lamp unit comprising a lens and a reflector which are interconnected at their peripheries. A plurality of brackets are secured to the lamp unit and are spaced around the periphery of the lamp unit and each bracket includes a hook portion engaging the periphery of the lamp unit and a blade portion which extends from the lamp unit. The assembly further includes a retaining ring which engages each of the brackets intermediate its hook portion and its blade portion and which clamps the brackets to the lamp unit. A body part can be used to support the lamp unit in use, the body part having at least three inwardly directed arms which slidably engage the outer surface of the reflector of the lamp unit, a pair of the brackets of the lamp unit being connected to the body part by screw adjusters. Operation of the screw adjusters thus moves the lamp unit relative to the body part with the curved surface of the reflector sliding relative to the three arms of the body part.

摘要： A speed-responsive governor mechanism comprises a rotatable governor arrangement having an output member responsive to the speed of a shaft driving the governor arrangement.
