Abstract: A vehicle includes first and second fuel-cell stacks, a first coolant circuit including conduit arranged to circulate coolant through the first fuel-cell stack, and a second coolant circuit including conduit arranged to circulate coolant through the second fuel-cell stack. A heater is in fluid communication with at least the first coolant circuit. A valve arrangement is configured to proportion a flow of coolant between the first and second coolant circuits. The valve arrangement has an isolation position in which the first and second circuits are not in fluid communication and at least one mixing position in which the first and second circuits are in fluid communication. A controller is programmed to operate the value based on sensed conditions.

Abstract: A load control device for controlling the power delivered from an AC power source to an electrical load is able to receive radio-frequency (RF) signals from a Wi-Fi-enabled device, such as a smart phone, via a wireless local area network. The load control device comprises a controllably conductive device adapted to be coupled in series between the source and the load, a controller for rendering the controllably conductive device conductive and non-conductive, and a Wi-Fi module operable to receive the RF signals directly from the wireless network. The controller controls the controllably conductive device to adjust the power delivered to the load in response to the wireless signals received from the wireless network. The load control device may further comprise an optical module operable to receive an optical signal, such that the controller may obtain an IP address from the received optical signal and control the power delivered to the load in response to a wireless signal received from the wireless network that includes the IP address.

Abstract: An electronic stove incorporates a cylindrical outer shell and a concentric copper heater core. A foil heater surrounds the copper heater core and a heater control PCB carried in the outer shell is connected to the foil heater. A battery assembly has a cylindrical second outer shell carrying a battery pack. A power controller carried in the second outer shell is connected to the battery pack. A connector carriage is engaged between the battery assembly and cylindrical outer shell, extending through the shell of the battery assembly and received in the cylindrical outer shell aligned proximate a lower surface of the first outer shell whereby the lower surfaces of the first outer shell and the second outer shell are in planar alignment. A first contact set of a connector is connected to the heater control PCB. A second contact is connected to the power controller.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatus for smart electric power grid communication are disclosed in the present invention. At least one grid element transmits at least one registration message over an Internet Protocol (IP)-based network to at least one coordinator. The at least one coordinator registers the at least one grid element upon receipt of the at least one registration message. The at least one grid element automatically and/or autonomously transforms into at least one active grid element for actively functioning in the electric power grid. The at least one coordinator tracks based on revenue grade metrology an amount of power available for the electric power grid or a curtailment power available from the at least one active grid element.

At least one grid element is constructed and configured in network-based communication with a server via at least one coordinator. The at least one grid element is transformed into at least one active grid element automatically and/or autonomously after initial connection with the server. The at least one active grid element sends and receives messages to and from the server via at least one coordinator. The at least one coordinator matches and prioritizes the at least one active grid element. The at least one coordinator provides a priority flag on the messages. The at least one coordinator tracks an actual amount of power introduced to and available for an electric power grid or a curtailment power available from the at least one active grid element.
