    Abstract: An apparatus for cooling a food item may include a base and a top, the top and the base defining an interior chamber configured to receive the food item, and a fan coupled to the top and configurable in an operating mode and an off mode, wherein the fan moves air within the interior chamber when in the operating mode. The apparatus may include a temperature sensor to measure a temperature of the food item within the interior chamber and provide a temperature signal representative of that temperature, at least one user input allowing a user to select a cooling parameter, and a control unit adapted to receive the temperature signal and the cooling parameter, wherein the control unit is configured to switch the fan from the operating mode to the off mode when the cooling parameter has been met.

    Abstract: A sanitary food delivery container device is provided. The device is comprised of a waterproof and generally rectangular body. A lid of the body may be closed, and a lock may be activated to prevent theft. The interior space of the body is further comprised of a light that may emit light at a specific wavelength to disinfect the items inside. A heating/cooling element may also be activated to provide heat to, or expel heat from, the interior space of the body, allowing the items inside to maintain their temperature during delivery.

    Abstract: A module for adjusting a temperature of a liquid in a container can include an elongate portion sized for insertion into the container, the elongate portion having an outer surface that contacts the liquid in the container about its circumference, the elongate portion housing therein one or more heating or cooling elements operable to facilitate heat transfer between at least a portion of the elongate portion and the liquid in the container. An adaptor attached to a proximal end of the elongate portion has a rim and a circumferential wall that have an outer circumference greater than an outer circumference of the elongate portion, the adaptor defining one or more passages between the circumferential wall and the outer surface of the elongate portion. The adaptor can be coupled to an opening of the container such that the elongate portion is suspended in the container and so that at least a portion of the elongate portion is submerged in the liquid in the container. The one or more passages allow the liquid to exit the vessel while the elongate portion is disposed in the container, allowing a user to consume the liquid in the container while the module is disposed in the container. A plurality of adaptors of varying sizes can be provided to allow use of the module with containers of varying sizes.

    Abstract: A food storage and preparation device (10, 50, 100, 200) is provided for more rapidly cooling or heating a mass of food or other product contained within a storage pan. The device includes a plurality of air contact fins (20) which rapidly convey heat to and from the ambient surrounding air and a plurality of food contact fins (22, 56, 106) which are inserted within the mass of food to increase the surface area of the food exposed to a heat transfer surface to more rapidly transfer heat to or from the mass of food.

    Abstract: This invention relates to a device used for cooling, or keeping cool, an individual liquid container. Although a cooler for milk or coffee creamer will be described in detail, the device can be used for refrigerating any liquid, and the interior of the device may serve as the container. The device is composed of a container, which is normally closed but has an opening feature for loading the device or dispensing a liquid, and a cooling unit. An outer container surface is thermally insulated from an inner container surface and a cooling component portion of a cooling unit is in thermal contact with the inner container surface. In one version of the device the cooling unit is a thermoelectric module, and the insulation is of the vacuum bottle type. In another version of the invention the outer container comprises both the insulation and the outer container surface as a unitary structure. Specially constructed heat dissipating fins remove heat from the heat rejecting portion of the refrigerating unit.
