Embodiments of the Explosive Device Simulator may include two or more chemical components that are non-explosive when separated from each other within the EDS, but which form an explosive mixture or substance when combined. Because the individual chemical components are non-explosive, the Explosive Device Simulator may be stored, transported and handled safely for long periods of time and without increased security, protective measures, or special training. Further, the chemical components may be chosen such that the Explosive Device Simulator creates a realistic explosion (e.g. loud and bright), but which produces minimal concussive forces and is therefore safer to use as a training aid.

    摘要: A mine emulation system includes a standard electronics section. The system can be reconfigured into several different mine shapes by the use of different end sections attached to the electronics section. The electronics sections can include an array of sensors, including magnetic, seismic, pressure and passive acoustic sensors. The electronics can be programmable such that the sensors can emulate the various mine types as well as differing mines within each type. An active acoustic communication system allows surface ships or RF buoy systems to communicate with the mine emulator. An operator can provide a release command to an acoustically operated release system via the acoustic communication system.

    摘要: The non-lethal TASER.RTM. Area Denial Device (TADD) can be deployed to prevent enemy reconnaissance troops or small raiding parties from penetrating lines and for their capture. The inventive device comprises a non-lethal alternative to the anti-personnel landmine. The TASER.RTM. alternative uses electronic stun capability in combination with a landmine housing and deployment system. This invention comprises improvements which address the issue of deployment. Regardless of which of the two flat sides of the device is in the up position, it provides the ability to launch the proper set of wires at an upward angle to intercept the subject when the target subject is in the correct position. It also simultaneously establishes a ground wire connection and prevents the second (downward facing) unusable set of wires from loading or short circuiting. The possibility of the device landing on the radius edge is eliminated by shaping the housing to make it unstable on that plane. The device will fall over onto one of two flat stable surfaces irrespective of where it initially impacts the ground. Grounding of unusable wires is prevented by a slidable shutter or gate which blocks launch of one of the lower set wires even when the device senses an intrusion into its trip space. The shutter or gate is gravity sensitive and automatically settles into a blocking position as soon as the device comes to rest.

    摘要: A reusable gas-powered war game land mine has at least one launch tube withne or more projectile(s) loaded therein. A compressed gas reservoir and rupturing device are provided with the rupturing device being movable in relationship to the seal of the compressed gas reservoir. A triggering mechanism is coupled to the rupturing device to move the rupturing device so that it impacts the seal when the triggering mechanism is activated. The rupturing device can define a channel through which the compressed gas is directed to the breech end of the launch tube(s) when the seal is broken. As a result, the compressed gas enters the breech end of the launch tube(s) to propel the projectile(s) therefrom.
