摘要: The aims of the invention are:
maximizing the explosion energy release of implosive munitions;
minimizing the vulnerability of munitions to external impacts, detonation and heat during storage;
radar-invisibility of munitions.
The invention provides for introducing charges that compress the main charge into the implosive device when equipping it before use.
Storing implosive munitions without compressive charges minimizes their vulnerability. The start of the device implosion process before the required moment of explosion ahead for the duration of the implosion processes maximizes the device explosion energy release. The invention makes it possible to use effectively cheap explosive mixtures, which have low sensitivities to detonation and heat, and release twice as much energy as hexogen, and also use munitions with thinner and less massive, radar-invisible walls.-

摘要: The method and apparatus for a remote weapon station or incorporated into manually-aimed weapons. The methodology requires use of a muzzle velocity sensor that refines the aiming of the second and subsequent fires or volleys fired from weapon systems. When firing the first volley a weapon uses an estimated velocity and, at firing, the muzzle velocity of a projectile is measured. When firing the second volley a weapon's fire control calculates an aiming point using the measured velocity of the first volley.

A shuttle is at least partially within the cavity with an air gap between the shuttle and the housing, where the shuttle is configured to contain one or more electronic components. An isolation assembly in the gap between the shuttle and the housing includes an elastomeric isolator and one or more seals. The isolation assembly retains the shuttle in the cavity with six degrees of freedom.

摘要: Hardened target sensors and systems are described herein. An example system includes a projectile defining an ogive, a body, and a base. The body of the projectile is arranged between the ogive and the base. The system includes a sensor assembly including a nose member and a plurality of strain gauges. The nose member defines a nose portion, a shaft, portion, and a threaded portion. The strain gauges are attached to the shaft portion. The system includes a shroud member, which is mechanically coupled with the sensor assembly and the body. The system further includes a smart fuze arranged within the body. The smart fuze is operably coupled to the strain gauges. The strain gauges measure the compression/tension of the shaft portion, which is part of the nose member. The load measured by the strain gauges can be used to detect hardened target layers and/or voids.

摘要: According to an aspect of the invention, there is provided a method of triggering an explosive charge of each of a plurality of munitions, the method comprising: launching a first munition, into the air, from a first gun barrel, and into water to engage with a target location, the first munition comprising a first explosive charge and a first fuze system, adapted to trigger the first explosive charge in the water, launching a second munition, into the air, from a second gun barrel, and into water to engage with the target location, the second munition comprising an second explosive charge and a second fuze system, adapted to trigger the second explosive charge in the water, the method comprising co-ordinating the timing of the triggering of the first explosive charge and the second explosive charge to establish a co-ordinated explosive event at the target location.
