    Abstract: A shaped charge assembly, comprising a casing and a liner, is disclosed. The liner includes a first longitudinal section connected to the casing, a second longitudinal section having the shape of a truncated cone wherein the truncated end thereof is directly connected, or connected by means of an intermediate longitudinal section, to the first longitudinal section. The second longitudinal section is at its base end directly connected to a third longitudinal section. The third longitudinal section is in the shape of a cone, an ogival or a hemisphere.

    Abstract: According to some embodiments, a shaped charge inlay includes an upper edge that extends inward and horizontal to an edge of a shaped charge casing associated with a shaped charge. The shaped charge includes an existing liner and the shaped charge inlay further includes a body that extends inward toward an apex of the existing liner. The shaped charge inlay may be disposed above the existing liner in the shaped charge, to disrupt collapse of the existing liner upon detonation of the shaped charge and thereby change the geometry of a perforating jet and resulting perforation created by the shaped charge. The perforation holes formed by shaped charges having the shaped charge inlay may have geometries that include constant open areas to flow in the target when the perforating gun is centralized or decentralized in a wellbore casing.

    Abstract: Liners (150), fittings (11-22), and spacers (23-25) are provided to assemble the jet (170) units, which work as explosives (110) and detonators (120) to form stand-off distance and air-deck (140) space. The liners (150) release jets (170) and the fittings (11-22) and spacers (23-25) are designed to attach the liner (150) firmly to the explosives (110), inducing the cavity effect. The objective of the present invention is to provide a blasting method using a jet (170) unit to overcome the limits of sympathetic detonation, applying a mechanism that is ideal according to the analysis of observations in blast-hole (100) blasting. The application of jet (170) units for jet (170) detonation in blast-hole (100) blasting overcomes the performance limits of explosives (110) manufacturing and the conceptual limits of detonators (120) functionalities and improves the channel effect, dead pressing, loss of power, and stopping of detonation etc. Particularly, the application of controlled blasting and air-decking can be carried out without restriction while maintaining the safety of the slurry or emulsion explosives (110).

The shaped charge includes a case having a side wall that extends between an open top region and a base; an asymmetric initiation insert configured to fit within the case; an explosive material placed over the asymmetric initiation insert and in contact with the side wall of the case; and a liner placed over the explosive material, to hold the explosive material within the case. The asymmetric initiation insert has a body that includes first and second channels that extend from a bottom surface to a top surface of the body, so that a detonation at the bottom surface is directed to first and second initiation points, that correspond to the first and second channels.
