摘要: An ignition safety device (ISD) used in an ignition system of a missile is configured to selectively control the ignition of two or more pulses or stages of a rocket motor propulsion system, based on a flight profile mode selection of a flight velocity mode, in which the missile is configured to travel at an optimized flight velocity, or a flight distance mode, in which the missile is configured to travel an optimized flight distance. The ISD is configured to selectively ignite the pulses or stages substantially simultaneously upon selection of the flight velocity mode, or in a delayed sequential manner upon selection of the flight distance mode. The ISD is also configured to selectively inhibit the delayed sequential ignition of the pulses or stages in the event of incidental ground or water impact of the missile after ignition of the primary pulse or stage.

摘要: Various types of structures, along with associated systems, are disclosed herein and configured for responding to an energy wave for changing a state of a mechanism to which said structures are operatively coupled. In at least one embodiment, the structure provides a material selectively changeable upon exposure to the energy wave to cause at least a portion of the material to mechanically degrade from a first state to a second state. When the material is in the first state, the material forms a mechanical or electrical link with the mechanism such that a force or an electrical current can be transmitted through the structure. When the material is in the second state, degradation of at least the portion of the material disrupts the mechanical or electrical link and inhibits transmission of the force or electrical current through the structure.

The area denial system may include a plurality of munitions, one or more sensor devices, and a command and control unit, networked together and having a command and control latency for communication between the command and control unit and the remainder of the area denial system. Latency compensation may include determining a first target position, determining a first predicted position area for the target using the command and control latency and the first target position, receiving an authorization to arm one or more of the munitions, determining a second target position, and determining that the second target position is outside a threshold distance from a first authorized munition of the one or more authorized munitions, and in response, de-authorizing the first authorized munition.

摘要: Embodiments described herein provides a low-complexity solution and current protection for a current driver that provide current pulses to pyrotechnic initiators. The current drivers include current limiters that prevent high current transients during a current pulse. Further, a duration of the current pulse is controlled based on a thermal limit of the current driver to prevent thermal damage to the current driver. One embodiment comprises an apparatus that includes a control circuit and a current driver. The current driver is electrically couplable to a pyrotechnic initiator. The current driver includes a power switch circuit electrically coupled to a supply rail that supplies a current to a high side of the pyrotechnic initiator in response to receiving a drive signal from the control circuit.

The munition has a first part which spins and a second part without or with little spin during flight of the munition. The device includes a sensor for outputting a characteristic variable for a relative rotation between the first part and the second part and a control unit for producing the arming criterion when the characteristic variable fulfils a flying criterion. The fuze for the partly spinning munition, which has at least one arming criterion, includes the device for providing the arming criterion or one of the arming criteria. The partly spinning munition includes the fuze with the device.
