摘要: The present invention relates to a hot-wire detonator emulator that has the capability of monitoring switching in a simulated, mock, or inert improvised explosive device (IED) powered by direct current. One purpose of the inventive emulator is to function as an energetic witness substitute by replacing the detonator in an actual IED, thus enabling bomb technicians to conduct bench top and field analyses of IEDs, and to assess the effectiveness of render-safe procedures by, for example, illustrating how a detonator would react in a render-safe procedure.

摘要: A simulated land mine for use in a combat simulation or a simulated war game, comprising: a base frame with an opening facing upwards; an inner housing inserted into the base frame and including a first center hole formed vertically therethrough; a gas cylinder mounted in the first center hole and including a second center hole formed vertically therethrough, a gas chamber formed around the second center hole and a discharge aperture communicating the formers and being used for containing compressed gas; a valve mounted in the second center hole for sealing the discharge aperture; a receiving chamber formed at an upper part of the first center hole by the inner housing, the gas cylinder and the valve and being used to contain colored liquid or powder to be ejected; means for supporting the inner housing which enables the movement of the inner housing in relation to the base frame; and a means for actuating the valve to selectively open the discharge aperture to release the compressed gas from the gas chamber into the receiving chamber.

According to aspects illustrated herein, a landmine simulator device includes a blast fixture; a lower portion of said blast fixture having a proximal end, a distal end and a hollow area therebetween, said hollow area being configured so as to direct channeling of an audio signature internally for maximum sound; and a top portion of said blast fixture having a top plate and a blast cover, said top plate having an opening for engaging and aligning with said proximal end of said lower portion, and said blast cover being configured so as to release a visible signature externally for maximum exposure.

摘要: According to one embodiment, a simulated mine includes a multiple integrated laser engagement system (MILES) device and a pyrotechnic device disposed in a simulated mine housing that simulates the appearance of an actual mine. The multiple integrated laser engagement system device is operable to transmit a light signal representative of a blast from the actual mine. The pyrotechnic device is operable to detonate simultaneously with transmission of the light signal.

摘要: An anti-personnel device for use in war gaming exercises comprises at least one launching mechanism for launching at least one projectile outwardly from the anti-personnel device wherein the launching mechanism has at least one member biased away from another member in opposing directions. A material is affixed to the ends of the members that forms a loop depending from the ends of the members thereby capturing projectiles therein when the members are in a closed, armed position.

摘要: A mine simulation system includes a magnetic field disturbance sensing apparatus carried by a moving vehicle and a plurality of randomly distributed passive permanent magnetic field disturbing devices located on the ground and simulated as mines. The sensing apparatus detects a magnetic field disturbance caused by the presence of any one of the passive permanent magnetic field disturbing devices when the vehicle comes into proximity of one passive permanent magnetic field disturbing device. A method for training personnel in mine field action can use this mine simulation system by entering the training vehicle into an area where the magnetic field of the earth has been disturbed by the presence of the passive permanent magnetic field disturbance device. When the training vehicle comes into proximity of one passive permanent magnetic field disturbance device, an output voltage is generated in the sensing apparatus detectable by a personnel being trained.

摘要: An exercise mine has a ballast portion, a generally barrel-shaped body constituted by a single piece molded about the ballast portion and a plurality of U-shaped metal fitting members having terminal portions that form resilient tabs which project outside the periphery of the body. The fitting members are secured together in groups to permit, along with the single molded body, the mine to be readily formed from just a few parts while ensuring the mechanical strength and durability of the mine.

摘要: A weapon for use in a simulated war game which has the characteristics of a land mine and therefore does not require the user to be in proximity to a target when the weapon is activated. The weapon includes a housing having a first chamber adapted to contain a slurry of a marking agent and dispersing agent. A second chamber, communicating with the first chamber, is adapted to contain a propelling agent such as a cylinder of compressed gas for example. A trigger mechanism is operatively associated with an activator for the propelling agent to actuate the activator when the trigger mechanism is tripped. When the activator is actuated, the propellant is released into the first chamber to drive the slurry from such chamber through an opening into an exterior receptacle, which in turn directs the slurry in a desired pattern exteriorly of the housing.

摘要: An actuation mine simulator system which enables realistic training experce in mine sweeping operations without the danger accompanying use of live mines. The actuation mine simulator is preprogrammed to respond at predetermined time intervals to actuation by large objects such as ships. The mine simulator includes buoyant flares for signaling actuation, a tethered float having a signal beacon for facilitating recovery, and an underwater acoustic transmitter for locating the simulator at the conclusion of training exercises.
