摘要: A bore cleaning device is configured to clean a bore of a firearm. The device includes a propellant providing a force to push the projectile down the bore of the firearm, a cup comprising at least one hole in a bottom surface of the cup, a dense material within the cup, wherein the dense material is configured to deform and press radially outwardly against the cup as the propellant provides propelling force to the dense material. The device further includes a bore rearward charge cap and a frame. The frame includes a bore forward plate located within the cup, a frame leg connecting the bore rearward charge cap and the bore forward plate and passing through the hole in the bottom surface of the cup.

摘要: A high velocity ignition system for ammunition including an casing, a primer, a payload, a first propellant region, a flash tube, a second propellant and at least one channel. The casing has a base portion and a forward portion. The primer is provided in the base portion. The payload is provided proximate the forward portion. The first propellant region is located in the casing intermediate the primer and the payload. The flash tube substantially extends between the primer and the first propellant region. The second propellant region is located in the casing intermediate the first propellant region and the base portion. The at least one channel extends between the first propellant region and the second propellant region. A separator with a forward extending cup and a rearward extending cup has a cylindrical portion that engages the inside surface of the casing, spans the internal distance in the casing, and defines flash pathways between the primer and main propellant and between the main propellant and the secondary propellant.

摘要: A missile component such as a rocket motor case, of an initial transverse cross-sectional shape flexible into another, different cross-section responsive to application of internal pressure from ignition of a propellant grain within the component. A missile launch assembly including at least one missile of a non-circular cross-section disposed within a segment of a partitioned circular launch tube. A multi-stage missile comprising at least a first stage and a second stage having rocket motor cases of non-circular transverse cross-section, the rocket motor case of at least one of the stages being deformable into another, different cross-section. A method of launching a missile including igniting a rocket motor of a missile component having a first cross-section, internally pressurizing the missile component substantially concurrently with motor ignition and flexing the component rocket motor into a second, different cross-sectional shape.

摘要: The invention proposes to provide distraction spoofing even on modern infrared, radar and dual-mode guided missiles (4) by production of a decoy chain (20). The chain (20) is formed by a plurality of apparent targets which are switched successively, for example by firing of individual chaff submunitions (2.1-2.5). The deployment takes place before or during the search phase of the missile and can in this case, for example, be carried out using the reverse walk-off principle or at the same time simultaneously or successively and in the form of a pattern. This ensures that the decoys (2.1-2.5) act initially in the greatest selected range zone away from the target (3). The spoofing chain (20) created in this way results in the missile (4) having to carry out a series of time-consuming analysis processes on its way to the target (3).

摘要: The present invention is directed to identifying ammunition. In one embodiment, an identifiable ammunition cartridge includes a bullet having a first identification surface, a casing having a second identification surface, and an identifying code positioned on at least one of the first and the second identification surfaces. In another embodiment, a method for identifying ammunition includes selecting a first code portion and a second code portion, and combining the first code portion with the second code portion to form an identifier that may be applied to the ammunition. In still another embodiment, a method for tracking ammunition having an identifier includes storing the identifier and a corresponding identity of a first custodian in a data storage system, transferring the ammunition to a second custodian, associating the ammunition identifier with an identity of the second custodian, and storing the identity corresponding to the second custodian in the data storage system.

摘要: A primer assembly including an ignition element assembly, a primer head assembly and a tubular body, is presented. The primer head assembly has an exterior diameter and an internal chamber containing the ignition element assembly. The tubular body has an open head end, a closed tail end and a wall defining an internal chamber. The internal chamber of the tubular body contains an ignition charge and the head end includes an internal diameter for receiving the exterior diameter of the primer head assembly. When the primer assembly is assembled, the tubular body encloses the primer head assembly and the primer head assembly seals the internal chamber. In one embodiment, the tubular body is a one-piece, seamless metallic tube having a wall of a thickness of about 0.150 to 0.160 inch and, preferably, about 0.155 inch.

摘要: A device for joining a first container to a second container, in which a first face of the first container is alignable with a second face of the second container along a longitudinal axis, includes a first narrowed portion, a second narrowed portion and a sleeve. The first narrowed portion is disposed adjacent the first face of the first container. The second narrowed portion is disposed adjacent the second face of the second container. The sleeve is disposed around the first narrowed portion and is shaped to slide parallel to the longitudinal axis from a first position to a second position. The sleeve in the second position at least partially covers and threadedly engages a corresponding threaded portion of the second container. As a result, the device permits two containers to be joined securely yet disassembled quickly.

摘要: An expendable cartridge wherein a deformable casing is expelled from the gun upon firing along with the projectile. The substantially non-combustible breech end cap is vented so that the full explosive pressure within the casing does not act against the breech end cap and thus expulsion of the casing is facilitated. Cover means are mounted on the breech end cap to provide environmental portection and/or protection against accidental ignition.
