摘要: A projectile deployment system includes a projectile casing having a pair of sockets, each socket sized to carry one of a pair of anchors of an entangling projectile having a tether connecting the pair of anchors. A pair of independently activable pressure sources are each capable of generating a pressure wave capable of expelling one of the anchors from one of the sockets to deploy the entangling projectile from the projectile casing toward a subject. At least one controller is operable to activate one or both of the pressure sources. Each pressure source is independently activatable at differing times so as to deploy the anchors from the projectile casing at differing times.

摘要: An explosive round countermeasure system incorporates a plurality of linear shaped charges with standoffs for holding the linear shaped charges in parallel spaced relation distal from the structure to be protected, each shaped charge creating a substantially planar jet when detonated. Means for sensing an incoming explosive round having a nose mounted fuse structure is provided and means for detonating at least one of the charges in the array responsive to the sensing means such that the detonation is timed for placement of the fuse structure adjacent the at least one charge.

摘要: A countermeasure system which is capable of defusing rocket propelled grenades (RPG) is provided by spacing an array of explosive charges or primacord from the protected structure to allow and sense an ogive of the fused RPG to enter into a functional plane of the array initiating one or more of the charges to collapse to ogive. The array is supported flexibly or rigidly and further ballistic protection is incorporated behind the array in fixed or inflatable forms to provide protection of the structure from the explosive products from the array and the ballistic impact of the defused RPG.

The metal shots are arranged into shot bags, and the cartridge may be packed into a shell of a conventional firearm. 摘要: A ballistically deployed restraining net system including a cartridge receivable within a barrel, the cartridge having a base and an opposing open end. There is a restraining net packaged in the cartridge and a set of weights attached to the restraining net and packaged within the cartridge between the base of the cartridge and the restraining net. A deployment charge ejects the restraining net and the set of weights out of the barrel and out of the cartridge and a spreader charge deploys the weights after the net and the set of weight exit the cartridge so that the weights overtake the net in flight.

摘要: A shot cartridge is made to contain a projectile system for harmlessly ensnaring a fleeing person. The projectile system employs three or four buckshot paired with an equal number of twinned fish hooks. Each buckshot and fish hook pair is joined by a thin strong line, and all said lines are joined at a single site. The fish hooks are separately housed adjacent the rear of the cartridge. The buckshot are separately housed adjacent the front of the cartridge. The line is housed within the cartridge in a compacted state. When fired, the projectile system deploys with an assured wide pattern.

摘要: A sabot-projectile arrangement adapted for being ejected from a gun barrel for the purpose of combatting actively and passively reacting armor. The arrangement comprises first and second projectiles, each having a different coefficient of air resistance (c.sub.w). A discarding sabot is comprised of segments which define a receptacle for accommodating the first and second projectiles with their longitudinal axes flush behind one another in order to follow one another in a spaced relationship on a common trajectory when the sabot-projectile arrangement is fired from a gun. Form locking means defines a form locking connection between the receptacle and each of the projectiles. The form locking connection existing between the leading first projectile disposed in the receptacle and the segments of the sabot are released earlier than when the segments are separated from the second projectile after the sabot-projectile arrangement leaves the gun barrel. Delay means cause the second projectile to be delayed with respect to the first projectile when the segments are separated for creating a desired distance between the projectiles within narrow distancing limits within which there exists axial aerodynamic coupling between the projectiles. An actuatable device is provided for varying the c.sub.w coefficient of at least one of the projectiles during flight so that the aerodynamic coupling between the projectiles is maintained within the distancing limits.

After the projectile member has been expelled it is spread out or developed by means of the air drag and elastic forces assisted by additional resilient means provided in the elastic casing.
