    摘要: A drive speed control system having an input shaft and an output shaft in communication with a planetary gear mechanism. The planetary gear mechanism is in communication with a first rotatable drum member and a second rotatable drum member which is positioned radially inward relative to the first rotatable drum member. A first annular inflatable member is positioned radially outwardly of the first rotatable drum member and a second annular inflatable member is positioned radially between the first and second rotatable drum members. The first and second annular inflatable members are in communication with a control system to cause the inflation of the first annular inflatable member to inhibit rotation of the first rotatable drum member and to cause inflation of the second annular inflatable member, when the first annular inflatable member is uninflated, to cause the first rotatable drum member to rotate in unison with the second rotatable drum.

    摘要: An electronic automatic transmission control system for an automobile comprises speed sensor means for detecting the speed of the automobile, load sensor means for detecting engine load, solenoids for controlling the automatic transmission including a lock-up clutch of a torque converter and a computer for receiving signals from the sensor means and for controlling the solenoids, the computer having a memory RAM and ROM for storing shift pattern data representing a plurality of lock-up patterns comprising three sorts of modes, i.e., power mode, economy mode and normal mode, in addition to a plurality of shift patterns comprising three sorts of modes, i.e., power mode, economy mode and normal mode. Any shift pattern and lock-up pattern is selected in one of three sorts of modes from a plurality of the shift patterns and lock-up patterns in accordance with correlation of the running speed and the engine load, and a combined pattern of the shift solenoid and the lock-up solenoid is selected according to the selected shift pattern and lock-up pattern, thereby gear shift and lock-up can be controlled. Safety provisions include dual speed sensors (speedometer) and (transmission output shaft) and fault detecting circuitry to maintain safe operation.

    摘要: Method for automatic gear selection in a vehicle power transmission, said selection being catered for by a control system including an electronic unit (1) which, in response to signals representing vehicle speed and engine load, coacts with a programmable read-only memory PROM (28), in which there are stored, for each gear position, alternative speed limits for changing gear to neighboring gears and also limiting values relating to speed change and engine load for selection between said alternative speed limits. To eliminate the risk of unsuitable gear selection for heavy vehicles, e.g. in conjunction with changing gear on a hill, the invention is essentially distinguished in that during travel, data on speed change and engine load are stored in a random access memory RAM (29); that the speed value most recently stored in said RAM before the initiation of the gear selection is compared, together with values stored in said RAM and relating to speed change and engine load at a certain instant before the initiation of the speed change, with values stored in said PROM and relating to speed, speed change and engine load, respectively; that said comparison results in the choice of a certain gear; that in the electronic unit (1) there is generated an output signal representing the selected gear; and that said output signal is fed to an operative means for indicating and/or engaging the selected gear.

    摘要: A control system for continuously variable transmission for vehicles is provided with an electric circuit receiving input signals of vehicle running conditions and a hydraulic control circuit. The hydraulic control circuit comprises a reduction ratio control device controlled by the electric control circuit and regulating the hydraulic pressure supplied to the hydraulic servo system of the input pulley and changing the reduction ratio between the input and output shafts of a V-belt type continuously variable transmission, and a shift control mechanism controlled by the electric control circuit and regulating the rise time of hydraulic pressure supplied to the hydraulic servo system of friction engaging elements connected to a planetary gear set changing forward and reverse drives. The control system permits the automatic transmission to perform under desirable running conditions such as optimum fuel economy, and it generates of the hydraulic fluid pressure required in any portion of the automatic transmission during working and eliminates shock of the shifting operation.

    摘要: An automatic transmission for an automotive vehicle comprises electromagnetic valves 5A-5C activated or deactivated in accordance with a given shift schedule determined based on traveling conditions of the automotive vehicle, a plurality of planetary gear trains 4A-4C driven by an output force of an engine, a plurality of friction devices B1-B4 and C1-C3 receiving hydraulic pressure to selectively connect or fix components constituting planetary gear trains 4A-4C, and a mechanical shift valve 6A having a pair of pressure chambers 62A and 63A and plural ports 64A, 65A and 66A. Upon application of hydraulic pressure to pressure chamber 62A, a fluid communicating path is established in the shift valve 6A so as to connect brake B1 and manual shift valve 8. When hydraulic pressure is applied to both of pressure chambers 62A and 63A, pressurized oil is drained from brake B1. Supply and release of hydraulic pressure to clutches C1-C3, brakes B1-B4 and pressure chambers 62A and 63A of the mechanical shift valve 6A is controlled by electromagnetic valves 5A-5C.
