Abstract:
The invention relates to a decorative article with a system (7) for interlocking two portions (5, 6) of at least one part (3, 4), comprising a screw (8) and nut (9) assembly which passes through each portion (5, 6) and is intended to press the two portions (5, 6) against each other by screwing. According to the invention, the interlocking system (7) comprises a flexible safety device (13) so that the screw (8) and nut (9) assembly can continue to be screwed and unscrewed whilst elastically preventing relative displacement between the screw (8) and the nut (9) below a predetermined torque.
Abstract:
A system for use in providing a load on a bearing mounted to a shaft includes a preload apparatus having a first extension and a second extension engageable with an inner race of the bearing and configured to provide a compressive load to the bearing. The first extension has a first projection and the second extension has a second projection. A stop ring is configured to limit a radially inward movement of the first extension and the second extension toward each other to position the first projection and the second projection relative to the bearing.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a fastening element for preventing unwanted release of a connection between the fastening element and a counter-piece. The fastening element is designed to come into engagement with the counter-piece through a rotary movement of the fastening element about an axis of rotation in a connection direction. Such fastening elements are suitable for use in a wide range of technical fields, for example the automotive industry, household electronics and medical technology, in particular in the field of instruments for implants or prostheses and modular systems of implants or prostheses.
Abstract:
A lock nut system includes a nut having a retaining member which includes a keeper having locking teeth configured to engage with the lock nut teeth. The locking teeth are offset in either a clockwise or counterclockwise direction to allow the lock nut to be locked into position on the shaft without further rotation or other adjustment of the nut.
Abstract:
In various representative aspects, an assembly for securing a support bracket to rail guide used for mounting and installing solar panels is provided. More specifically, the assembly provides a novel and improved nut with a serrated surface in combination with a t-bolt with a serrated surface that is capable of penetrating the respective oxidation surface layers of the bracket and the rail guide when installed. When installed, provides a mechanism for using the bracket to connect the rail guide to a flashing that is typically installed on a roof. An alternate embodiment of the nut also includes rotational and vertical stabilizing features that prevent the nut from moving along the bracket once it is secured. By employing the apparatus at various locations along the roof in a linear fashion, the rail support structure can be properly installed so that an array of solar panel modules to be installed.
Abstract:
A bearing assembly for use in a gas turbine engine is provided. The bearing assembly includes a bearing retainer having an inner portion, an outer portion spaced radially apart from the inner portion, and an intermediate portion connecting the inner portion and the outer portion, wherein the inner portion and the outer portion define a space there-between. The bearing assembly also includes a bearing housing having an extended portion positioned within the space. The bearing assembly also includes a locking assembly comprising a locking plate and an axial keyway that extends axially away from the locking plate. The locking plate is coupled to the bearing retainer and the axial keyway is coupled to the extended portion of the bearing housing.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to plug assemblies within a gas turbine engine. In one embodiment, a plug assembly includes a boss which includes a shaft and a collar, a retaining element including at least two prongs, and a plug including a shank and at least one retaining feature. The at least two prongs of the retaining element are configured to retain the plug to the boss.
Abstract:
A tool-free blade change system in one embodiment includes a handle, an arbor bolt including a keyed portion configured to mate with a keyed bore of the handle to restrict rotation of the handle with respect to the arbor bolt, a blade washer defining a plurality of washer teeth which enmesh with the body teeth so as restrict rotation of the handle with respect to the blade washer in one direction while allowing rotation of the handle with respect to the blade washer in another direction, and a biasing member configured to bias the handle downwardly toward the blade washer, wherein the handle is axially movable with respect to the blade washer between a first position whereat the plurality of body teeth are enmeshed with the plurality of washer teeth and a second position whereat the plurality of body teeth are spaced apart from the plurality of washer teeth.
Abstract:
A mount apparatus for a frame member is provided. The mount apparatus includes a bolt and a retainer. The bolt includes a head, a shank extending from the head, and a tang extending radially from the head. The retainer includes a reactive plate fixing the retainer against rotation relative to the frame member and an engagement slot defined by the retainer having a first wall disposed to prevent positive rotation of the tang.
Abstract:
A lock nut system includes a nut, a keeper engagement with the nut to inhibit movement of the keeper relative to the nut, and a keeper retaining member. The keeper has a radially inner side configured to engage a shaft to inhibit rotational movement of the nut relative to the shaft when the keeper engages the nut and a radially inner side engages the shaft. The keeper retaining member is secured to the keeper and is engageable with the nut to hold a keeper axially such that keeper is engaged with the nut. A cover member is located on an opposite side of the keeper retaining member relative to the nut and engaged to the keeper retaining member to inhibit a separation of the cover member from the keeper retaining member in such that that the separation of the cover member from the keeper retaining member provides a visual indication to a user.
