    摘要: Centering elements effectively reduce the clearance between a shaft and a rotatable element, such as a blade-fixing flange of a dicing saw for use with semiconductor substrates or carrier substrates. The centering elements may be used to substantially align a center of mass of a rotatable element installed onto the shaft with the axis of rotation of the shaft. The centering element may position the center of mass of a rotatable element at a position that is in substantial alignment with the axis of rotation. Methods for assembling rotatable elements onto shafts and methods for balancing such rotatable elements are also disclosed. Multiple fixtures as well as multiple centering elements may be employed. In addition, one centering element may position more than one fixture.

    摘要: Centering elements for effectively reducing the clearance between a shaft and a rotatable element, such as a blade-fixing flange of a dicing saw for semiconductor substrates or carrier substrates, installable thereon are disclosed. In addition, the centering elements may be used to substantially align a center of mass of a rotatable element installed onto the shaft with the axis of rotation of the shaft.     摘要: A diamond impregnated saw blade of the type used in dicing saws is adapted for mounting on a high cooling flange or standard flange hubs and useful for cutting very hard objects. The saw blade is made in the form of an annular ring comprising a homogenous mixture of diamonds held in situ by a binder material and is characterized by alternately spaced raised teeth and recessed cooling grooves through which a stream of cooling fluid is directed into the kerf of an object being cut as well as on all cutting surfaces of the cutting saw blade.

    摘要: An ink jet printhead fabrication process wherein a plurality of printheads are produced from two mated substrates by two dicing operations. One dicing operation produces the nozzle face for each of a plurality of printheads and optionally produces the nozzles. This dicing blade, together with specific operating parameters, prevent the nozzles from chipping and the nozzle faces from scratches and abrasions. A second dicing operation with a standard dicing blade severs the mated substrates into separate printheads. The dicing operation which produces the nozzle face is preferably conducted in a two-step operation. A first cut makes the nozzle face, but does not sever the two mated substrates. A second dicing cut severs the two substrates, but does so in a manner that prevents contact by the dicing blade with the nozzle face.

    摘要: A method to be used for adjusting the radial deviation from the true runn position of the internal cutting edge of annular saw blades and an apparatus for carrying out the method. For this purpose, the radial deviation or out-of-true is first measured as a function of position. Subsequently, the saw blade is stretched as a function of position in a defined manner in order to compensate for the deviations from the specified value of the radial out-of-true as a function of position. The measuring and tensioning cycles are continued until the deviation from the specified value no longer exceeds a predetermined tolerance limit. Saw blades adjusted in this manner are characterized by long service lives and high cutting accuracy.

    摘要: A center-opening saw blade having an inner sawing edge is spanned or tensioned to provide an accurate, high quality cut by apparatus including inner and outer clamping collars between which an outer peripheral edge region of the saw blade is clamped, a spanner ring having an inner edge and an outer centering heel, the clamping collars being tightly affixed to the spanner ring with the clamping rings positioned in the centering heel with the inner edge of the spanner ring engaging an inner region of the saw blade to impart an initial stress thereto. A form ring is axially slidably mounted within the clamping collars and is slidable to engage an intermediate portion of the saw blade between the outer peripheral edge region clamped between the clamping collars and the inner region engaged by the inner edge of the spanner ring to impart a fine adjustment stress to the saw blade.
