Abstract:
A device for producing intertwining knots in a multifilament thread has a rotating nozzle ring with an encircling guide groove on an outer casing and an encircling sealing surface on an inner casing. At least one nozzle bore opens radially into the guide groove and passes through the nozzle ring. The nozzle ring is guided on a stator that has an encircling sliding surface on its periphery for guiding the nozzle ring and that forms a pressure chamber having a chamber opening that opens into the sliding surface. The sealing surface of the nozzle ring interacts with the sliding surface of the stator in order to provide air sealing. The nozzle ring is formed in a pot-like manner with an end wall having a disc-like end sealing surface which interacts with an end sliding surface formed on an end side of the stator to provide air sealing.
Abstract:
A toroidal cloth is provided comprising a plurality of closed-loop toroids interconnected together, the method comprising: providing a first toroid having a first proximal portion and a distal portion; providing a second toroid having a second proximal portion and distal portion; providing a third toroid having a third proximal portion and distal portion; overlapping the second toroid and the third toroid; forming an interconnection between the first, second and third toroids by looping the first proximal portion through the second and third toroids, the first proximal portion passing through the interior of the first toroid adjacent to the first distal portion to cause the first distal portion to be positioned adjacent to the second and third proximal portions; and wherein the interconnection and each subsequent interconnection is formed to provide a triangulated toroidal cloth structure.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a knot for linking two lines, ropes or similar, such as a float line or a ballast line and a mounting yarn having at least one netting connected thereto. The invention is characterised in that it comprises the following steps consisting in: forming a loop with the first line, said loop comprising two strands which are connected at the tip of the first loop and which separate from one another at the base of the first loop; bending the upper part of the first loop downwards and placing the lower parts of the strands between the upper parts of the strands that are connected at the tip, such as to form a second loop; forming a third loop with the lower parts of the strands under the second loop; introducing the third loop into the second loop; and separating the end of the third loop from the lower parts of the strands, such as to form the knot.
Abstract:
A fabric throw, a kit for making a fabric throw and a method of assembling a fabric throw are disclosed. The method can include providing a first layer of fabric material and a second layer of fabric material; cutting a plurality of slits along edges of the layers to form corresponding pairs of fringes from the layers; and knotting corresponding pairs of fringes to secure the first layer to the second layer.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process for the bonding by adhesion of a cover to a shaped padding, in particular of polyurethane foam, especially for the production of seat cushions. The process includes the step of arranging a cover (1) in a cold-shaping device (2) and fixing it thereto by means of a holding frame (3), then placing an adhesive (4) on the internal walls of the cover (1). The surface of the padding (5) intended to cooperate with the internal walls of the cover (1) is subsequently heated to a high temperature. After a predetermined temperature has been reached the heating is interrupted and the thus heated foam padding (5) is applied to the internal walls of the cover (1) coated with adhesive (4), so as to bring about instantaneous transmission of heat by direct contact with the adhesive (4) leading to extremely rapid setting thereof. The cold-shaping device (2) is then opened and the padding(5) equipped with its cover (1) is removed.
Abstract:
A hand-held hot-tying device used for forming fishermen's knots, such as blood knots, which are used to tie two fishing lines segments together. The device is flat with a base from which three spaced-apart legs extend at right angles. The device may be formed from an assembly consisting of congruent plates which are fastened together adjacently. The adjacent spaced-apart legs of the assembly provide three sets of two nips into which the fishing line is wedged and held fast. The top portion of each nip is tapered so as to facilitate insertion of the fishing line segments. While one free end of line to be joined remains held fast, the free end of the other is manipulated on the device and then clamped to the center legs. Then the free end of the other line to be joined is likewise manipulated and clamped to the center legs. Following both aforesaid line manipulations, the preliminary knot loop formed by the manipulations is manually lifted above the center legs of the plates and the lines are pulled tight to form a completed knot.
Abstract:
A knotting tool includes an elongate handle with a cord support projecting from the handle. The cord support includes walls about which the cord being knotted is wound. A guideway along the cord support receives cord segments with one of the segments being inserted through multiple windings formed on the cord support. A cord lock is insertable through an aperture in the cord support to temporarily bind a cord segment in place and may be in the form of a paper clip. A notched end of the cord support retains a reversed cord segment in place during knot formation. A deflector in the guideway acts on an inserted end of a cord segment to divert same out of the guideway to facilitate grasping. A method of forming a knot is disclosed using the present tool.
Abstract:
A knot or bend for use with single or multiple lengths of material and comprising an overhand knot entwined with a crossing knot. The resulting knot or bend is decorative and capable of being tied in a variety of different ways. The knot or bend has great security, but easily may be loosened and untied when desired.
Abstract:
Various nylon filamentary materials, including twine, rope and other cordages, are rendered resistant to knot and other interlacement slippage by treatment with certain latex compositions that form a tightly-adhering, blockage-promoting and -assisting surface film on the treated filamentary product so as to enhance physical knot strength propensities and characteristics of the treated-twine and equivalent product insofar as particularly relates to mechanical undoing of the knot under pulling stresses (as distinct from "knot strength" break-point tests indicative of the tensile strength of the filamentary nylon product, per se). Styrene (i.e., "St")/butadiene (i.e., "Bu") and like and analogous synthetic resinous latices--especially those of the carboxylated variety--are particularly good for achievement of the anti-slippage in knot formation enhancement of the nylon filamentary goods involved. The treating method adapted to bring about the advantageous desiderations as well as the beneficially treated nylon filamentary product are also involved in comprehensive keeping with the invention.
