Abstract: A resin powder for solid freeform fabrication has a 50 percent cumulative volume particle diameter of from 5 to 100 μm and a ratio (Mv/Mn) of a volume average particle diameter (Mv) to the number average particle diameter (Mn) of 2.50 or less and satisfies at least one of the following conditions (1) to (3): (1): Tmf1>Tmf2 and (Tmf1−Tmf2)≥3 degrees C., both Tmf1 and Tmf2 are measured in differential scanning calorimetry measuring according to ISO 3146. (2): Cd1>Cd2 and (Cd1−Cd2)≥3 percent, both Cd1 and Cd2 are measured in differential scanning calorimetry measuring according to ISO 3146, and (3): C×1>C×2 and (C×1−C×2)≥3 percent.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a two-part, room temperature curable heat and fire retardant composition comprising a first part comprising 1) an epoxy resin; and 2) a flame retardant compound; and a second part comprising 1) a first amine comprising N,N′-bis(3-aminopropyl)ethylenediamine and 3,3′-oxybis(ethylene-oxy) bis(propylamine); 2) a second amine comprising m-phenylenebis(methylamine) and formaldehyde, polymer with 1,3-benzenedimethanamine and phenol; and 3) a flame retardant compound. The composition according to the present invention can be used as a heat and fire retardant coating composition or a structural adhesive or a potting compound, especially as a coating composition for car battery boxes.

Abstract: Disclosed is a transparent self-assembling polymer clay nanocomposite coating that is useful in food, drink and electronic packaging as a gas barrier and on textiles and clothing as a flame retardant coating. The coating includes two main components a water dispersible polymer and a sheet like nanoparticle. The coatings may be applied to any substrate. The coatings are applied sequentially with polymer being applied first followed by the nanoparticles. This sequence results in the self-assembly of a highly ordered nanocomposite film that exhibits high barrier properties and flame retardancy. The desired level of gas barrier or flame retardancy desired can be adjusted by the number of bilayers applied.

Abstract: A resin powder material comprising copolymerized polybutylene terephthalate resin powder and an inorganic substance, for example, fumed silica, having an average primary particle diameter of 100 nm or less in an amount up to 1.0 wt %. The polybutylene terephthalate resin comprises from 5 mol % to 15 mol % of Isophthalic acid and has powder with average particles diameter of 79 μm and a maximum particles diameter of 106 μm. Powder is obtained by grinding pellets of the copolymerized polybutylene terephthalate resin having a viscosity of 0.85 to 1.0 dl/g. Powder composition used for production of molded articles by powder laminate molding process.

Abstract: A moisture-curable composition having flame retardant properties and to the use thereof as an adhesive, sealant or coating. The composition according to the invention contains at least one moisture-reactive polymer in a proportion of 10% to 50% by weight, at least one precipitated, surface-coated aluminum trihydrate in a proportion of 30% to 60% by weight and in preferred embodiments up to 25% by weight of at least one phosphorus-containing compound and up to 20% by weight of at least one carbon additive. The inventive moisture-curable composition has excellent flame retardant properties and after curing remains resistant for a long time at high heat levels.

Abstract: Provided is an irradiation-crosslinked ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) composition containing: EPDM 30 to 80 phr (parts per hundred resin) free of a crosslinking agent, a polyolefin (PO) resin 10 to 50 phr, a silicone rubber 5 to 40 phr, a flame retardant 20 to 30 phr, a crosslinking accelerator 5 to 10 phr, a crosslinking assistant 1 to 5 phr, an antioxidant 5 to 15 phr, and a lubricant 0.25 to 5 phr. Provided is a cable produced by: providing the irradiation-crosslinked EPDM composition; first kneading the composition using a kneader; second kneading the first kneaded composition using a roll mill; extruding the second kneaded composition using an extruder, and then cutting the extruded composition to produce pellets as a raw material for the cable; forming a cable of a predetermined length by extruding the pellets using an extruder; and irradiation-crosslinking the formed cable using an electron beam accelerator.
